Have you ever swum with the whales on the sand of the great Sahara desert?...a site was found few years ago just in the middle of the Northern western desert of Egypt that used to be a shore where the Whales gathered looking for food 40 million years ago. 400 fossilized Whales were found in that site classified by the UNESCO as one of the world's heritage sites.
It is one of the most important sites in the world as it led us to discover the evolution of the whales, and how they moved from living on the land to living in the water.
How this site can be seen by tourist?...
We arrange trips to The valley of the Whales which is Wadi El-Hitan in the Arabic language.
an over-day to the valley is enough to see it as the area visited by tourist to see the fossilized whales is just a track of almost two miles length that can be hiked in three hours, however staying there for an overnight camping in the Wadi is perfect for those who would like to explore the whole area to see all the fossils.
