A few years ago, the world celebrated another great discovery that comes the second in importance after king Tut's in 1922, it is completely different though, it is a world's heritage site like the valley of the kings, however, the Pharaohs had no clue how to find such place. It is the Whales valley in the Western Egyptian desert with much older history than the ancient Egyptian civilization.

In the Whales valley the one sees the history of our beautiful planet and how it used to look like 200 million years ago before mankind. The Whales lived on the land not in the water, yes, that was millions of years ago, and this was proved by the newly discovered wadi with over 400 fossilized whales.
Cairo, Fayyoum, Wadi El-Rayyan, Wadi El-Hitan.

After breakfast at your hotel in Cairo:

Start our trip to El-Fayyoum oasis (110 k.m south west of Cairo). Stop by Qaroon lake to see the famous Auberge which once was the rest house of king farook. Visit Wadi El-Rayyan Protected Area where there is so much to see (the two lakes, waterfalls & birds). The most memorable is the spectacular scenery of Wadi El-Rayyan, the contrast between the blue waters of the lakes and the golden desert land.
