Tour Itinerary

Detailed itinerary of the 6 Days Deluxe Tour of Cairo and Nile Cruise

Day 1: Arrival in the Land of the Pharaohs, Egypt: From the moment you arrive safely in this country, an employee from “Egypt Fun Tours” will be waiting for you at Cairo International Airport to assist you with passport check procedures and baggage identification and carrying. You will be taken in a private air-conditioned vehicle directly from the airport to your 5-star hotel reservation so you can check in. You will start your journey in the evening with a dinner cruise on the magnificent Nile, where you can unwind and enjoy a vibrant belly dancing performance with a folklore band that performs the incredible Tannoura spin by Egyptian whirling dervishes tradition. After that, you’ll return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 2: Visit the Egyptian Museum and the Pyramids: Check out of the hotel in the morning after breakfast, then meet your private Egyptologist tour guide to begin your Cairo and Nile Cruise Package by seeing one of the seven wonders of the world:

Giza Pyramids Complex: Your first stop will be the Giza Pyramids complex, one of the world’s oldest structures that have been standing there for the last four thousand years. The majestic Sphinx, the house of an immortality valley temple, six smaller pyramids, and three great pyramids make up the Giza complex.

The Great Pyramid: It is a must-see attraction since it is both one of the largest buildings in the world and the final remaining piece of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It is more than 4500 years old and dates to 2580 BC. The Great Pyramid, which stands at a height of 147 meters (481 feet), was built in 20 years using 2,300,000 pieces of limestone, each weighing 2.5 tonnes, and a workforce of 100,000 free skilled laborers. This made the Great Pyramid the tallest building in the world for 3800 years until the Lincoln Cathedral in England was built in 1311.

The Great Sphinx: Due to its enormous size and grandeur, it is a unique statue on the globe. Its design is based on the mythological monster known as the Sphinx, which had the body of a lion and the head of a man, most likely King Khafre, to symbolize strength and knowledge. The Arabic name for it is Abu Al-Hawl, which translates to “The Father of Terror.” The Sphinx was cut out of single limestone rock and is 73 meters (240 feet) tall and 19 meters (66 feet) wide. Its origin and antiquity are buried in mystery, much like the great pyramids, and many questions remain unsolved.

The Valley Temple: the location where mummification took place. The valley was built during Egypt’s Old Kingdom (2686 2134 BC). It is one of the best-preserved remains of ancient Egyptian architecture and a wealth of knowledge about ancient Egyptian mummification may be found there. King Khafra sculptures constructed of superb diorite may be seen in the valley, which is composed of limestone and granite.

After eating your lunch in a restaurant with a view of the Pyramids or the Nile, travel on to visit:

The Egyptian Museum: More than 150,000 artifacts, including statues, funerary items, and supplies like King Tutankhamun’s treasures, the Narmer palette, papyrus, and more, are housed inside the two-story Egyptian Museum, which houses the largest collection of authentic ancient Egyptian artifacts and monuments in the world. These monuments and statues date back to all periods of Ancient Egypt and span more than 4000 years.

Transfer to the Cairo airport in the evening for your Aswan flight. Upon arrival, take a 5-star luxury Nile cruise and spend the night there.

Day 3: Sail in Aswan and see the city’s attractions: After breakfast on board, continue your Cairo and Nile cruise package by seeing the top tourist destinations in Aswan, beginning with:

The High Dam: The High Dam, one of Aswan’s few contemporary attractions, was built between 1960 and 1970, under the rule of Gamal Adel-Nasser. The dam was built with the aid of the Moscow-based Hydro Project Institute to provide hydroelectric power while also providing improved water storage for agriculture in its reservoir lake Nasser.

The Unfinished Obelisk: One of Aswan’s most distinctive landmarks is the Unfinished Obelisk, which Queen Hatshepsut (1508–1458 BC) wanted to stand at the entrance to the Karnak temple beside the Lateran Obelisk, which is now located at the Lateran palace in Rome. The structure, known as “Tekhenu,” which means “Pierce the Sky” and demonstrates how obelisks were constructed using ancient Egyptian building techniques, was 42 meters tall and weighed 1200 tonnes. The obelisk was sadly fractured during construction and has stayed there to this day.

Temple of Philae: The mythical temple of the goddess Isis of Love and Beauty, Philae Temple, is well-known for depicting the “Myth of Osiris,” in which Isis’ husband “Osiris” is slain by His brother. Set in the underworld as the king after being revived out of sheer enmity and jealousy, Osiris is ultimately vanquished by Isis and Osiris Son Hours, the sky God. Following the building of the Aswan High Dam, the temple was moved in the 1960s to the island of Agilkia as part of a rescue operation supervised by UNESCO.

Sailing and overnight on board.

Day 4: Visit the Kom Ombo and Edfu Temples: On the fourth day, you will leave your breakfast and go to:

Temple of Kom Ombo: The name “The Hill Of Gold” is Kom Ombo. It was built between 205 BC and 180 BC, during Ptolemy V’s rule in the Greco-Roman era. The temple’s peculiar double design, which is split into two similar sectors—one for the crocodile deity Sobek and the other for the falcon sky god Horus—is what makes it noteworthy. You will then keep sailing to:

Temple in Edfu: One of the last temples ever constructed during the Ptolemaic period, between 237 BC and 57 BC, to serve as the designated place of devotion for the sky deity Horus is the Edfu Temple. According to the Osiris Myth, it is said to have been constructed on the same site where the battle between the demon god Set and Horus occurred. It was discovered after being unearthed in 1860 by French Egyptologist Auguste Mariette. The Edfu Temple’s architecture and interior are stunning because they expertly combine Greek and Egyptian styles.

You will keep sailing until you get to Luxor, where you will spend the night on board after arriving at night.

Day 5: Sail to Luxor and see the monuments there: Check out after breakfast, then your tour guide and a private air-conditioned car will be there to help you finish your Cairo and Nile Cruise Package by seeing the sights in Luxor beginning at:

The Kings’ Valley: The Valley of the Kings, the ultimate burial place of Egypt’s greatest kings and queens, must be seen as part of your Cairo and Nile Cruise itinerary (1570-1070 BC). Due to the significance and beauty of the valley, UNESCO designated it as a World Heritage Site in 1979. It has 63 tombs that are each loaded with enchanted jewels, artifacts, sculptures, mesmerizing decorations, and the bones of pharaohs like Amenhotep I, Hatshepsut, Ramses (I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, IX, X), and the well-known boy-king Tutankhamun.

Temple of Hatshepsut: Hatshepsut Temple, also known as Djeser-Djeseru (Holy of Holies), reflects the grandeur of the new monarchy (1550–1070 BC) and exemplifies the vision and brilliance of “Queen Hatshepsut,” one of the most successful monarchs in the annals of Ancient Egypt. The temple took 15 years to build after being conceived in 1479 BC. The temple’s structure is based on the idea of classical architecture and houses some of Egypt’s most stunning sculptures, decorations, and works of art.

Memnon’s Colossi: The two pieces of quartzite sandstone that make up the Colossi of Memnon, also known as the enormous defenders of Luxor, rise at a height of 18 meters (60 feet), weighing 720 tonnes each, and are shaped like Pharaoh Amenhotep III (1386-1350). A significant earthquake that occurred in 27 BC devastated the Colossi, although they were later reconstructed in 199 AD. The Vocal Memnon, which was nothing more than the sound of the wind blowing through the statue, caused by the statues sometimes singing at dawn earned them fame throughout the Greco-Roman era.

After that, go to an island for lunch so that your tour will also include a boat ride down the Nile River. Finish your adventure with a visit to:

Temple of Karnak: One of the rare locations that have withstood the sands of time is the Karnak temple, also known as Ipet-Isu. The Most Selected Of Places and Pr-Imn House Of Amon is the oldest religious man-made structure in the world, dating back more than 4,000 years. Throughout more than 1500 years, the Theban triad—God Amun, his wife, the Goddess of Justice Mut, and his son, the moon god Khnsou—as well as other gods like the great Osiris, Montu, Ptah, and Isis—were the focus of religious devotion for the whole ancient Egyptian country.

Transfer to the airport in Luxor to catch the nighttime flight to Cairo.

Day 6: Conclude Your 6 Days Deluxe Tour of Cairo and Nile Cruise: After having breakfast at the hotel, you will check out before being driven in an air-conditioned vehicle to Cairo International Airport to catch your flight home and conclude your trip to Egypt.

What People Say About Us
5/5

Thank you Egypt Fun Tours for a most memorable trip. I admit I didn’t do any of the planning (it was all done by my boyfriend) but as you can read in the reviews below Hani (the owner of Egypt Fun Tours) is superbly organized and accommodating with scheduling.

My boyfriend and I, and our dearest mutual friend, booked the 7Days-6Nights tour. In short time, we visited Cairo, Aswan, and Luxor sailing down the down the Nile, pit stopping to see key sites at these location – and so much more!!! We got to know the ancient and modern egypt in depth thanks to Hani’s impressive knowledge. He also enlightened us on the people and their beliefs and went as far as showing us what a typical life looks like. I cannot express the level of personalized service Hani offered us. He was flexible to adapt to our requirements and added sites to our schedule that was not part of the tour simply to ensure we were 100% satisfied with our experience in Egypt.

I went to Egypt practically blind-folded, not knowing what to expect, especially considering the time we had decided to go (December 2020 – we were the first group that Hani met with after months of having to put his tour agency on hold considering the pandemic) yet he managed to surpass all of our expectations. I felt so incredibly lucky for us to have stumbled on Hani. I would recommend Egypt Fun Tours to anyone and everyone. It was truly, HANDS DOWN, the best cultural experience I’ve ever had. You’ll be in the best of hands.

Hamada was incredible! So knowledgeable and kind. He had information about every item, street corner, and relic we looked at. Any questions we had, he had answers! He even made sure to give us tips while walking through the crowds so that’s we would feel more comfortable when being approached by vendors. Oh and the food?! He took us to the best places! Delicious food!! We tried Egyptian fried chicken, falafel for the first time, the best shawarma in the city (we love food). We even got to meet his beautiful wife and children and try some “French” Egyptian coffee in their home! Truly made friends for life!! We’ve promised to host him and the family when they travel to America for the first time! Such an incredible experience, and Hamada (and family) made it that much more memorable and amazing!

Excellent trip to historic sites with no one else around. We came to see Egypt while most places still had COVID19 fears. The staff at Egypt Fun Tours were professional, safe, and great to deal with. Very helpful, knowledgeable, and entertaining. I feel like I just got a a year of Egyptology in the last week and we had all the sites to ourselves due to COVID19. While people are shutting down and staying home you should feel safe to come explore with Egypt Fun Tours and have the place to yourself.
