7 Days Tour Package of Luxor and Hurghada itinerary
Day 1: Cairo Arrival
Day 2: Pyramids, Sphinx, Egyptian Museum & bazaars
Day 3: Paradise Island
Day 4: Full-day tour to Luxor (about 10 – 14 hours)
Average pick-up time, with Egypt Fun transport and local rep, from the resorts. The convoy departs Safaga at 7.00 am and travels through the Western Sahara Desert to Luxor, approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes into the drive the buses will stop at a rest point, thus allowing guests to leave the buses for 20 minutes to eat their breakfast boxes supplied by their hotel or visit the bathroom.
After the rest stop, the buses will continue their journey with the convoy through the desert, Quena, and some local villages until they reach Luxor at approximately 10.45 am. Upon arrival at a junction just outside Luxor, the rep will collect the local guide for the day and continue their journey to the Colossi of Memnon statues at approximately 11.00 am.
Upon arrival at the Colossi of Memnon statues, the guide will normally tell all guests within the transport the information relating to the actual site and then allow them 15 minutes to depart from the transport and take some pictures. Then they continue to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut.
Here all guests have to disembark from the transportation and make their way from the coach park to the temple with the assistance of local train-like transportation halfway.
There is no shade within this valley; however, the guides try to ensure that guests are led to a shaded area within the temple when explaining some of the histories. Guides will normally explain three or four areas of the temple, under its shade before allowing guests approximately 30 minutes of free time to have a look around and take some pictures.
The guide will usually meet the guests before the train transportation and walk them back to the bus. They then continue to the Valley of the Kings from about 12.30-1.00 pm, of course, this is around the hottest time of the day however the Valley of the Kings has an air-conditioned visitors center.
Within the visitor’s center, the guide will leave the guests for about 15 minutes to watch a video and relax till they have cooled down. The guide will then normally take the group outside to the train-like transportation and transfer all guests up the hill to the tombs.
Upon arrival the guide will walk the guests to a shaded area, located outside the first tomb they will view, where he will explain some history about the pharaoh and the tomb, then give guests 15 minutes of their own time to view the tomb. All guests meet the guide outside under the shaded area after they have been inside the tomb. The guide will then continue to a shaded area, with ceiling fans, to explain the next two tombs.
The guide will then walk them around to the smaller tomb, allowing them 15 minutes, and then on to the larger tomb, allowing them 20 minutes of viewing time.
After the guide leaves the guests to go inside the third tomb, he informs them he will be waiting within the larger shaded area for the group. After the group returns, the guide will take them back to the transport via the train like transportation again.
The group then makes their way to the West Bank of the Nile River, via an Alabaster Factory, and here the guide will put all guests on a motorized felucca-type boat, to give the guests that Nile experience. The bus will travel empty from the West Bank to the East Bank and will meet the guests wherever they are having lunch.
The boat with the guests should travel from the West Bank to the East Bank and stop at the hotel or restaurant used for the guest’s lunch. Lunch is normally served around 2 till 2.30 pm and is a buffet lunch. Drinks are not included in the price of the excursion.
After lunch, guests are taken from the hotel or restaurant to the famous Temples of Karnak on the East Bank. The guide shows the guests around certain areas of the temples, this can take about an hour of his time, and then gives them about 45 minutes of free time.
Guests are back to the transportation at about 5.20 pm. After that, the guide takes them to Luxor temple for about 1 hour. The transportation normally then makes its way to the convoy meeting point, passing a papyrus factory, for the departure at 6 pm.
The guide will leave the bus at the convoy meeting point. The transportation then makes the return journey across the desert with a rest stop at 8 pm for approximately 20 minutes. The transport will arrive in Hurghada at about 22.30. Overnight in Hurghada.
