North of Fayoum’s shimmering Lake Qarun, a 350-meter-high ridge cuts into the desert sky. This is Gabal Qatrani (Qatrani Mountain), a fascinating geological wonder that is much more than just a mountain. It is a time capsule. Formed between 33 and 23 million years ago, this low-lying mountain is one of the world’s most significant fossil sites. It holds the preserved remains of an entire prehistoric ecosystem. Today, it offers a unique adventure for hikers, history buffs, and stargazers.

Amazing experience
My husband and I had a ten-hour layover in Cairo and luckily found Egypt Fun Tours while researching tour companies online. The owner, Hamada, picked us up from the airport and brought us around Cairo. He took us to see the pyramids, which was a memory I will never forget.
