Smack in the middle of innumerable hills of sand constituting the Desert, egypt oases are a sight to behold. They are havens that reveal quite a lot about the nation’s peculiar geography and cultural relics. Among such oases, Baharya, Farafra, Dakhla, Siwa, and Kharga boast of their status as throbbing centers of life carrying their unique appeal and mystique.
The Bahariya Oasis is rich in Pharaonic history and contains a few interesting attractions that are evidence of its rich heritage. Among them is the Valley of the Golden Mummies, a fantastic discovery made by Zahi Hawas. It is a collection of mummies dating to the Greco-Roman era.
It gives insight into burial practices and the way of life that people lived in the oasis during ancient times. Further evidence of Bahariya’s importance as a center of trade and agriculture during the times of the pharaohs comes in the form of ruins of various temples and structures scattered all over the oasis. This constitutes a great combination with which to combine the attractions, together with the landscapes of the desert, and enhances the Bahariya Oasis as an interesting destination for travel into the rich Pharaonic history of Egypt.
Farafra, to the west, is renowned for its laid-back atmosphere and stunning scenery. This oasis is much smaller compared to Bahariya, but it also features dark volcanic hills of the Black Desert that rise sharply against the horizon. Natural springs throughout Farafra provide a welcome respite from the heat, while palm date trees dot the beautiful countryside, creating ideal settings for relaxation and exploration.
Dakhla Oasis stands out as an absolute jewel, featuring a unique diversity in landscapes, along with a rich history. Qasr village in Dakhla reflects the traditional architecture in the form of mud bricks that show the livelihood of the inhabitants of this place. It also consists of natural springs, which have been a means of subsistence for centuries, feeding the land and its inhabitants. One comes to see the ancient ruins, as well as archaeological sites indicating the tumultuous history of this region.
Located in the Western Desert, Siwa Oasis is the most famous of Egypt’s oases, rich in legends and mystique. The oasis features the historic Siwa Fort and the sacred Oracle Temple of Amun, consulted by Alexander the Great. Siwa contains several natural springs, such as the Cleopatra Spring, said to have healing powers, that draw visitors looking to rejuvenate. The landscape dotted with palm date trees and olive groves further adds to the charm of the oasis.
Further south lies the Kharga Oasis, the largest in Egypt, serving as a portal to the Western Desert. Historically, it boasts such sites as the Ancient Roman Temple of Hibis and the Bagawat Necropolis. The oasis also happens to be an agricultural one, courtesy of its abundant natural springs. Visitors can tour the oasis surroundings and enjoy serene environments flanked by the majestic desert landscape.
These oases are more than just a sight; they are cultural crossroads where ancient traditions meet the modern world. Every oasis offers unique experiences, from viewing ancient ruins to enjoying the hospitality of local people. Put together, this makes the oases of Egypt a beautiful, nature-rich, and culturally vibrant destination that adventurers should not miss. They offer great exploration and insight into this remarkable region.
In short, each oasis, unfolding on a journey from one to another, reveals the real meaning of Egypt. It is a place interlinked between nature, history, and the prevailing spirit of its people. Take in surreal formations in the White Desert or lie serenely under the shade afforded by palm date trees. The Egyptian oases promise an unforgettable journey into realms of wonder and discovery.

I am a California woman who traveled to Egypt alone and thanks to Egypt Fun Tours I had a great time. Hani, Mohammed, Kamal and David (my driver) were very professional and very knowledgeable, I appreciate how respectful they were and how protective they were with me.
They show me everything I wanted to see in Cairo and nearby places like Saqqara, Memphis, etc. Thanks to them I had a great time in Egypt, they were so so helpful than on my second day they helped me to move from my hotel in Giza to the Steigenberger hotel in downtown Cairo.
The tour price is super good includes a guide (expert in the field) a driver, lunch and drinks, they took me to amazing places for lunch, the food was super super delicious, for a foodie like me that was a highlight. We went out fo the tourist traps and I got to see the Cairo that if you are in a bus tour you will never get to see.
This tour is personalized for each person depending of what you want to see and do, I absolutely love it.
I used WhatsApp to communicate with Hani and arranged all my tours, Hani was super super nice since the moment I contacted him and explained him what I wanted to do and see.
Hani and his group mesmerized me with the tours they put together, this is a memory I will keep for lifetime.
I had only good things to say about them and I highly recommend them.
I did visit the pyramids in Giza, downtown Cairo, new Cairo, several museums, Coptic Cairo and Muslim Cairo with them and I learned a lot from them, I felt like they were family to me and it was EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT.
If I go back to Egypt I will hire them again without hesitation.
David I take my hat off for you because I have NO IDEA how you can drive in crazy Cairo, thanks to all of you for making this lady’s dream a reality.
I had waited 60 years to get to Egypt, in fact it was my 60th birthday gift to myself. I went with my oldest daughter and the experience was excellent. It was meticulously planned by the tour company and was designed for me and my daughter. I never had a minute where I was concerned. We were met by a tour rep at the airport and every step of the way. The guides were beyond expectations. Mydo the best tour guide of Egypt was excellent and very knowledgeable. Tarek our guide for the south, was equally as knowledgeable. I can’t say enough about both. Hani the tour director is the greatest, personable and so very helpful and truly cares that you have the best experience of your life. It was a dream come true. All the holidays we stayed at were 5 star in my opinion. I don’t have a bad word to say about this tour company. My daughter and I were treated exceptionally well by all and by all in Egypt
Wonderful tour with the guide Hamada. I did not feel rushed at all, he explained a lot of facts about the city, the mosque , the water storage room, and also brought me to no hassle shops. He picked a great place to eat and have Turkish coffee and a cold lemon mint drink. We took a took took when we got tired from walking. He also happens to be a great photographer and helped take beautiful pictures. Overall a wonderful tour and great experience.
