Day 2: Giza Pyramids, Memphis, and Sakkara Tour

After breakfast, you will begin your 5-day trip to Cairo and Luxor, where you will see the eternal charms of this sacred land by visiting:

Giza Pyramids Complex

The Giza Pyramids Complex is a real expression of the glory of ancient Egyptian civilization and one of the world’s most renowned and well-known landmarks. It has been positioned in the enigmatic western desert for almost 4000 years, making it one of history’s oldest monuments. The entire complex consists of three main pyramids, each of which is dedicated to a different pharaoh named Khafre, Khufu, or Menkaure, six smaller pyramids, Egypt’s great protector, the glorious sphinx, and the valley temple, which was used to preserve the kings and queens’ heritage and legacy for countless generations.

The Great Pyramid

The Great Pyramid of Khufu is the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World that has survived intact, making it one of the world’s oldest and biggest constructions. The pyramid was built at a height of 147 meters (481 feet) by King Khufu’s vizier Hemiunu, making it the world’s tallest structure for 3800 years until the completion of the Lincoln Cathedral in England in 1311. It dates back to 2580 BC, making it about 4500 years old.

The Great Sphinx of Giza

The Great Sphinx is the world’s biggest and oldest statue in history, with the body of a lion and the head of a man, most likely King Khafre, as a symbol of power and knowledge. It was formerly known as “Hor-em-Akhet,” which means “Horus of the Horizon,” and was known as Abu Al-Hawl, which means “The Father of Terror” in Arabic. It was cut out of single limestone rock and is 73 meters (240 feet) tall and 19 meters (66 feet) wide.

The Valley Temple

The Valley Temple is as ancient as the Giza Pyramids, having been built during Egypt’s Old Kingdom (2686-2134 BC) and serving as the site of the Mummification Process. It is one of the best-preserved temples of ancient Egyptian civilization, constructed completely of limestone and granite and housing amazing Chephren diorite figures.

After that, go to a local Cairo restaurant for lunch. Then go to the following places:-

Step Pyramid of Saqqara

In 2700, the Saqqara Step Pyramid was the first Pyramid ever built in Egypt, and it is regarded as ushering in the era of building. It was constructed by Pharaoh Djoser’s vizier, the renowned Imhotep. The pyramid has a one-of-a-kind design, as it is made up of six steps and rises to 62 meters tall, encircled by a 10.5-meter high wall with 14 entrances. The pyramid is encircled by a one-of-a-kind complex that includes stunning ornamentation and imposing ceremonial buildings that are still in excellent shape.

Then go to Egypt’s first capital in the ancient world: Memphis.

Memphis City

Memphis is Egypt’s first recognized capital, created by King Menes to unite the two lands’ lives. It is renowned as the Land of Endurance and Beauty, as well as the hub of governance, commerce, art, and religion, all of which are under the gaze, supervision, and protection of Ptah (the Patron of Craftsmen). It has several remains going back over 4000 years that belong to some of Ancient Egypt’s most famous figures, including Ramses II, as well as large temples dedicated to gods and goddesses like Aton and Hathor.

Finally, we return you to your Cairo hotel for the night.

Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

Day 3: Sightseeing tour of Old Cairo – flight to Luxor

After breakfast, you will go into the heart of “The City of Minarets” and with your tour guide, experience all of Cairo’s major sites, beginning with:

The Egyptian Museum

It is one of the world’s largest museums, with relics and monuments going back over 4000 years and spanning all historical periods from ancient Egypt through Greek, Coptic, and Islamic civilizations. Over 150,000 unique real artifacts, including sculptures, jewelry, funerary relics such as King Tutankhamun’s riches, and a handful of exhibited mummies, are housed on the museum’s two levels.

Lunch will be provided at a local Cairo restaurant before visiting:

Citadel of Salah El Din

Salah El-Din’s Citadel has witnessed all that has happened in this eternal city, which is why it is known as the Cairo Citadel. Since its completion in 1182 AD by the renowned conqueror Salah El-Din, it has provided a panoramic view of Cairo. It functioned as a formidable fortification against the Crusaders and Napoleon’s French invasion, and it became the government’s headquarters for more than 700 years late in the 19th century.

Mohamed Ali Mosque

Because of its unusual architecture and copious use of marble, the majestic Mohamed Ali Mosque has earned the nickname “The Alabaster Mosque.” It was built between 1830 and 1848 AD as a duplicate of Istanbul’s blue mosque as a symbol of independence and freedom from the Ottoman Empire. The mosque is extremely fascinating, with its Ottoman-style design influenced by French rococo, captivating elaborate finishes in crimson, green, and gold, and a magnificent entrancing dome.

The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization

The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) is a mystical link between predynastic Egypt and modern and contemporary Egypt. The museum will employ the most sophisticated museological techniques to present all of Egypt’s wonderful art, history, and culture, which stretches back over 4000 years, most simply and stunningly possible.

Finally, whilst in Cairo, pay a visit to:-

Bazaar of Khan El Khalili

Khan El Khalili is renowned as the Middle East’s golden brick road because it is the region’s oldest market, dating back to 970 AD. The street is still lively today, with everything a traveler might want, as well as all the lovely cafes and businesses dating back hundreds of years. All of the beautiful Islamic architecture and decorations along the Boulevard are enthralling and in excellent shape.

We will drive you to Cairo airport after the day to catch your flight to Luxor, where you will meet our agent who will guide you to a 5* hotel for the night.

Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

Day 4: Visit Luxor’s Attractions

On Day Four, you’ll wake up to a delicious breakfast at your hotel, then check out and meet your private tour guide to continue the second half of your 5-day Cairo & Luxor trip package, which includes visits to:

The Kings’ Valley

The Valley of the Kings has served as a ladder to heaven and a gate to the afterlife for Egypt’s greatest kings and queens (1570-1070 BC). It is one of the world’s most significant archaeological sites, having been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. It has 63 tombs with beautiful items, decorations, and the bones of pharaohs like Ramses I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, Amenhotep I, Hatshepsut, and the legendary boy-king Tutankhamen.

Temple of Hatshepsut

Hatshepsut Temple is the epitome of beauty and the purest embodiment of the new kingdom’s magnificence (1550-1070 BC), showcasing the vision and majesty of Queen Hatshepsut, one of Ancient Egypt’s most successful rulers. Senenmut, Hatshepsut’s chancellor, planned it in 1479 BC, and it took 15 years to build. The temple’s design is based on the idea of Classical Architecture. Deir El-Bahari is the name of the temple, which was formerly known as Djeser-Djeseru (Holy of Holies). It has some of Egypt’s most spectacular decorations and sculptures.

Memnon’s Colossi

The Colossi of Memnon are said to be the guardians of Luxor’s ancient city. The colossi are two 720-ton quartzite sandstone rocks in the form of Amenhotep III that stand 18 meters (60 feet) tall and weigh 720 tonnes apiece (1386-1350). A huge earthquake in 27 BC severely destroyed the colossi, but they were reconstructed around 199 AD. The sculptures were renowned throughout the Greco-Roman era because there was a legend about The Vocal Memnon, who sang from time to time at dawn in a sobbing sound that was nothing more than the wind blowing through the statue.

Lunch will be eaten on an island, so your excursion will begin with a Nile cruise, followed by visits to:

Karnak Temple

Karnak Temple is a one-of-a-kind archaeological site around the globe since it is one of the world’s largest open-air museums. It was formerly known as Ipet-isu, which means The Most Selected of Places, and Pr-Imn House of Amon. It is the biggest religious man-made structure in history, dating back over 4000 years. It was the epicenter of the ancient Egyptian kingdom’s religious devotion. It was devoted to the Theban triad, which included Deity Amun, his wife, the Goddess of Justice Mut, and their son, the moon god Khnsou, as well as other gods like Osiris, Montu, Ptah, and Isis.

We will drive you to Luxor Airport at the end of the day to catch your flight back to Cairo for the night.

What People Say About Us
5/5

Thank you Egypt Fun Tours for a most memorable trip. I admit I didn’t do any of the planning (it was all done by my boyfriend) but as you can read in the reviews below Hani (the owner of Egypt Fun Tours) is superbly organized and accommodating with scheduling.

My boyfriend and I, and our dearest mutual friend, booked the 7Days-6Nights tour. In short time, we visited Cairo, Aswan, and Luxor sailing down the down the Nile, pit stopping to see key sites at these location – and so much more!!! We got to know the ancient and modern egypt in depth thanks to Hani’s impressive knowledge. He also enlightened us on the people and their beliefs and went as far as showing us what a typical life looks like. I cannot express the level of personalized service Hani offered us. He was flexible to adapt to our requirements and added sites to our schedule that was not part of the tour simply to ensure we were 100% satisfied with our experience in Egypt.

I went to Egypt practically blind-folded, not knowing what to expect, especially considering the time we had decided to go (December 2020 – we were the first group that Hani met with after months of having to put his tour agency on hold considering the pandemic) yet he managed to surpass all of our expectations. I felt so incredibly lucky for us to have stumbled on Hani. I would recommend Egypt Fun Tours to anyone and everyone. It was truly, HANDS DOWN, the best cultural experience I’ve ever had. You’ll be in the best of hands.

Hamada was incredible! So knowledgeable and kind. He had information about every item, street corner, and relic we looked at. Any questions we had, he had answers! He even made sure to give us tips while walking through the crowds so that’s we would feel more comfortable when being approached by vendors. Oh and the food?! He took us to the best places! Delicious food!! We tried Egyptian fried chicken, falafel for the first time, the best shawarma in the city (we love food). We even got to meet his beautiful wife and children and try some “French” Egyptian coffee in their home! Truly made friends for life!! We’ve promised to host him and the family when they travel to America for the first time! Such an incredible experience, and Hamada (and family) made it that much more memorable and amazing!

Excellent trip to historic sites with no one else around. We came to see Egypt while most places still had COVID19 fears. The staff at Egypt Fun Tours were professional, safe, and great to deal with. Very helpful, knowledgeable, and entertaining. I feel like I just got a a year of Egyptology in the last week and we had all the sites to ourselves due to COVID19. While people are shutting down and staying home you should feel safe to come explore with Egypt Fun Tours and have the place to yourself.
