Detailed itinerary of the 15 Days Egypt Christmas Holiday

Day 1: Arrival at the Cradle of Civilization: When you arrive at Cairo International Airport, our representative will help you with passport control requirements, baggage identification, and portage. You will be taken by private A/C vehicle from the airport to your hotel to check in. We will pick you up from your hotel in the evening to begin your Christmas holiday in Egypt with a Dinner Cruise, then you will be transferred back to your hotel after watching a colorful belly dancing show with a folklore band, featuring the unforgettable Tannoura spin, in keeping with Egypt’s whirling dervishes tradition.

Day 2: Discover the Immortality of the Magical Pyramids: After breakfast, embark on your 15-day Egypt Christmas vacation with your own tour guide, seeing some of the major Cairo tourist destinations such as:

Pyramids of Giza Complex

The Giza Pyramids complex consists of three major pyramids, six smaller pyramids, a large sphinx, and the Valley Temple. The structure was built during the 4th dynasty, 2400 years ago.

The Great Pyramid of Giza

The Great Pyramid belonged to “King Khufu.” It is the oldest and biggest of the three pyramids on the Giza plateau, and the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World to have survived intact. The enormous pyramid is 147 meters tall, was erected with 2,300,000 stones, and took twenty years to complete.

Sphinx of Giza

The enormous Sphinx belongs to “King Chephren,” and it is the world’s biggest statue, towering 73 meters long, 19 meters broad, and 20 meters tall. It is the world’s oldest monumental sculpture.

The Temple of the Valley

The sole extant granite funerary temple was used by Ancient Egyptians for mummification on the Giza plateau.

Proceed to a Pyramids/Nile view restaurant for lunch, then continue your day trip with a visit to:

Step Pyramid of Saqqara

It is said to be the first large-scale cut-stone building, dating back to King Djoser’s reign in Egypt in the 27th century B.C. The step pyramid is made up of six steps stacked on top of each other and stands 62 meters tall.

Memphis City

It was King Menes’s first capital in Egypt, and it maintained a strategic location between Upper and Lower Egypt. Memphis was said to be guarded by the deity Ptah, the god of creation and art.

Finally, we return you to your hotel for the night.

Day 3: Indulge Your Inner Explorer with a Trip to Alexandria: After breakfast, take a private excursion to Alexandria with your own private Egyptologist tour guide to see:

Kom El Shoqafa Catacombs

A Roman burial site with a family tomb demonstrates the fusion of Egyptian and Roman art and construction. Descend underground to see the tomb and Caracalla Hall.

Return to the surface and continue to visit:

The Pompey’s Pillar

An 82-foot (25-meter) granite column was erected to commemorate Emperor Diocletian, who liberated the besieged city and supplied food to its hungry inhabitants.

Citadel of Qaitbay

A stronghold built in the 15th century on the Mediterranean coast. Sultan Al-Ashraf Qa’it Bay founded it in 1477 AD. The Citadel is located in the same location as Pharos Island.

Lunch will be provided at a seafood restaurant, followed by a tour to:

Alexandria Public Library

The library has a copy of every book ever written, making it one of the world’s major literary institutions. The Alexandria Library also holds various exhibits about Egypt’s history, as well as a display of rare ancient books.

Finally, return to your Cairo hotel for the night.

Day 4: Aswan Between Nature and History: After breakfast, check out of your accommodation and head to Cairo airport to take a flight to Aswan, where you will meet your Egyptologist tour guide to continue your Egypt Christmas holiday by touring Aswan tourist sites, beginning with:

High Dam of Aswan

It was erected over the Nile River at Aswan between 1960 and 1970, and it has had a tremendous impact on Egypt’s economy and culture.

The Uncompleted Obelisk

The old world’s biggest obelisk. It was commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut (1508-1458 BC) to accompany the Lateran Obelisk (originally at Karnak) and was eventually moved to the Lateran Palace in Rome.

After lunch at a local restaurant in Aswan, go to:

Temple of Philae

The temple of Philae is dedicated to Isis, the goddess of love and beauty. As part of the UNESCO Nubia Campaign initiative, the temple complex was demolished and transported to neighboring Agilkia Island, preserving it and other monuments before the installation of the Aswan High Dam in 1970.

At the conclusion of the day, travel to your 5* Nile cruise and spend the night on board.

Day 5: Visit the World Heritage Temples of Abu Simbel: Get your breakfast boxes early in the morning, then join your private tour guide to visit:

Temples of Abu Simbel

The two Temples of Abu Simbel, with their distinct architecture, are regarded as ancient Egypt’s greatest. The Temples are rock-cut temples created during King Ramses II’s reign around 1200 B.C. The first temple is dedicated to King Ramses II, and the second to his loving wife Queen Nefertari. The sculptures and artwork that adorn both temples are breathtaking. This temple is a must-see for its hand-carved pillars, wall murals, sculptures, statues, and much more.

After lunch, return to your ship and resume cruising. Overnight stay on board.

Day 6: Visit Edfu and Kom Ombo Temples: In the morning, you will have breakfast aboard the cruise before traveling to:

Temple of Kom Ombo

The Kom Ombo Temple is a Nile-facing temple. This temple is split into two temples, each having two entrances, two hypostyle halls, and two sanctuaries.

Continue your journey to:

Temple of Edfu

Dedicated to Horus, the Egyptian god. Edfu Temple is Egypt’s best intact Greco-Roman temple, with a “Play” depicting Horus’ victory over the wicked deity Seth on its walls.

Sail to Luxor after lunch, arriving late at night, and spend the night on board.

Day 7: Discover Luxor’s Hidden Treasures: Enjoy breakfast aboard your cruise, then check out. You will be joined by your tour guide and a private air-conditioned car to continue your tour package in Egypt by seeing Luxor tourist spots on the Nile’s east bank, beginning with:

Temple of Karnak

The Karnak temple is Egypt’s most spectacular site. It is the world’s biggest temple complex. It is the culmination of several generations of ancient builders and Pharaohs. The Temple of Karnak consists of three principal temples spread over 247 acres of land.

Transfer with your tour guide to a 5* hotel in Luxor for lunch and relaxation before moving with your tour guide to see the Luxor Temple at night.

The Luxor Temple

The Temple of Luxor was the focal point of the most significant event, the Opet Festival. The temple, which was mostly built by Amenhotep III and King Rameses II, served as a venue for festival rites. The event was intended to reconcile the ruler’s human component with the celestial position.

Back to your Luxor hotel for the night.

Day 8: Finish Your Luxor Adventure: Breakfast at your hotel, followed by a tour guide and a private air-conditioned car to finish another section of your Egypt Christmas vacation by seeing the major monuments on Luxor’s west bank, such as:

The Valley of Kings

It is the ultimate resting place of Egypt’s kings from the 18th to the 20th dynasties, and it contains tombs of renowned pharaoh Ramses II and young pharaoh Tutankhamun. The tombs were well-stocked with all the material items that a monarch may want in the afterlife. The majority of the ornamentation within the graves has survived.

Temple of Hatshepsut

It is one of the most magnificent and well-preserved temples in Ancient Egypt. Hatshepsut’s temple was erected on three levels, with two large ramps in the center connecting the tiers.

Memnon’s Colossi

The sole remnants of a full funerary temple are two huge stone sculptures of King Amenhotep III. The sculptures are built from pieces of quartzite sandstone found in Cairo and transported 700 kilometers to Luxor.

Have lunch and spend the night at your Luxor hotel.

Day 9: Let the Beauty of the Red Sea Nourish Your Soul: After breakfast at your hotel, check out and travel from Luxor to Hurghada, where you will check into a 5* hotel and spend the night.

Day 10: Unwind in Hurghada: Join your private supervisor diving after breakfast to discover the beautiful corals and fish under the sea on your Red Sea adventures.

Day 11: Hurghada Free Day: Take advantage of a free day in Hurghada by spending it on the beach.

Day 12: Explore the Hurghada Desert: Breakfast is served in the morning, followed by a quad safari and a B.B.Q supper. A safari tour in the Hurghada desert is a pure adrenaline rush that will quicken your pulse.

Day 13: Fly from Hurghada to Cairo: Check out after breakfast, then fly to Cairo, where you will meet your tour guide and continue your Christmas trip in Egypt by touring historic Cairo sights beginning with:

The Egyptian Museum

The Egyptian Museum has a remarkable collection of art dating back 5000 years. Almost 250,000 real objects are on display, including an exhibit devoted to Tutankhamun’s wealth, gold, and jewelry collection, which was kept in his tomb for over 3,500 years.

Lunch will be provided at a local Cairo restaurant before visiting:

Citadel of Salah El Din

Cairo Citadel is a majestic citadel that served as Egypt’s center of government until the 1860s. It was built under the reign of Salah Al-Din. The building began in 1176 and was finished in 1182.

Mosque of Mohamed Ali

The mosque was titled “The Alabaster Mosque” because the majority of the walls were composed of pure alabaster and were built between 1820 and 1838. The Muhammad Ali Mosque is a copy of Istanbul’s Blue Mosque.

The Egyptian Civilization National Museum

The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) is capable of displaying all of Egypt’s hidden 3-and intangible wonders in the clearest vision and providing visitors from all over the world with the magical sight of the most majestic artifacts dating back more than 4000 years of diverse history and culture.

Bazaar Khan El Khalili

No trip to Cairo is complete without a visit to the Khan El-Khalili market, the oldest and most renowned in the Middle East. It was built around 970 AD, the same year Cairo was founded.

At the conclusion of the day, we will bring you back to your Cairo hotel for the night.

Day 14: A free day in Cairo: Spend the day doing anything you want in Cairo.

What People Say About Us
5/5

Thank you Egypt Fun Tours for a most memorable trip. I admit I didn’t do any of the planning (it was all done by my boyfriend) but as you can read in the reviews below Hani (the owner of Egypt Fun Tours) is superbly organized and accommodating with scheduling.

My boyfriend and I, and our dearest mutual friend, booked the 7Days-6Nights tour. In short time, we visited Cairo, Aswan, and Luxor sailing down the down the Nile, pit stopping to see key sites at these location – and so much more!!! We got to know the ancient and modern egypt in depth thanks to Hani’s impressive knowledge. He also enlightened us on the people and their beliefs and went as far as showing us what a typical life looks like. I cannot express the level of personalized service Hani offered us. He was flexible to adapt to our requirements and added sites to our schedule that was not part of the tour simply to ensure we were 100% satisfied with our experience in Egypt.

I went to Egypt practically blind-folded, not knowing what to expect, especially considering the time we had decided to go (December 2020 – we were the first group that Hani met with after months of having to put his tour agency on hold considering the pandemic) yet he managed to surpass all of our expectations. I felt so incredibly lucky for us to have stumbled on Hani. I would recommend Egypt Fun Tours to anyone and everyone. It was truly, HANDS DOWN, the best cultural experience I’ve ever had. You’ll be in the best of hands.

Hamada was incredible! So knowledgeable and kind. He had information about every item, street corner, and relic we looked at. Any questions we had, he had answers! He even made sure to give us tips while walking through the crowds so that’s we would feel more comfortable when being approached by vendors. Oh and the food?! He took us to the best places! Delicious food!! We tried Egyptian fried chicken, falafel for the first time, the best shawarma in the city (we love food). We even got to meet his beautiful wife and children and try some “French” Egyptian coffee in their home! Truly made friends for life!! We’ve promised to host him and the family when they travel to America for the first time! Such an incredible experience, and Hamada (and family) made it that much more memorable and amazing!

Excellent trip to historic sites with no one else around. We came to see Egypt while most places still had COVID19 fears. The staff at Egypt Fun Tours were professional, safe, and great to deal with. Very helpful, knowledgeable, and entertaining. I feel like I just got a a year of Egyptology in the last week and we had all the sites to ourselves due to COVID19. While people are shutting down and staying home you should feel safe to come explore with Egypt Fun Tours and have the place to yourself.
