You will be picked up from the airport by a private A/C car and driven to your hotel to check-in. We will pick you up from your hotel in the evening to begin the first part of your Christmas experience in Egypt by taking you on a Dinner Cruise to watch a colorful belly dancing show with a folklore band, complete with the unforgettable Tannoura spin, in keeping with Egypt’s whirling dervishes tradition, before returning you to your hotel. You will experience the essence of the ideal holiday getaway at the beginning of the new year over those 13 days of Egypt’s Christmas break.

Day 2: Marvel at the Pharaohs’ Glory in the Pyramids: After breakfast, you’ll meet your private tour guide to see the major Egypt tourist attractions, including the Giza Pyramids, one of the world’s seven wonders:

Giza Pyramids Complex

Three main pyramids, six smaller pyramids, the Great Sphinx, and the Valley Temple make up the complex. The structure dates from 2400 B.C. when it was built by the 4th dynasty.

The Great Pyramid of Giza

It is the oldest and largest of the three pyramids on the Giza plateau, and the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World to have survived intact. It also belonged to “King Khufu.” The Great Pyramid stands 147 meters tall, has 2,300,000 stones in its construction, and took twenty years to complete.

The Great Sphinx of Giza

“King Chephren” owns the Great Sphinx. It is the world’s largest statue, measuring 73 meters long, 19 meters broad, and 20 meters tall. It is the oldest monumental sculpture that has been discovered.

The Valley Temple

This is the only surviving granite funerary temple used by Ancient Egyptians for the mummification procedure on the Giza plateau.

After lunch at a restaurant with a view of the Pyramids or the Nile, continue your Egypt Xmas vacation by visiting:

Step Pyramid of Saqqara

It dates back to the era of King Djoser, who governed Egypt in the 27th century B.C. and is thought to be the earliest large-scale cut-stone building. The Saqqara Step Pyramid is made up of six steps that are stacked on top of one another and stand at a height of 62 meters.

Memphis City

King Menes established it as Egypt’s first capital, and it was strategically located between Upper and Lower Egypt. Memphis was said to be guarded by the god Ptah, who was the god of creation and art.

Finally, we return you to your hotel for the night.

Day 3: Visit the Mediterranean Bride: After breakfast, conclude your Christmas vacation in Egypt by taking an air-conditioned automobile excursion to Alexandria, accompanied by a private tour guide, to see:

Kom El Shoqafa’s Catacombs

A family tomb at a Roman burial site illustrates the fusion of Egyptian and Roman art and construction. Visit the tomb and Caracalla Hall by going underneath.

Return to the surface and pay a visit to:

Pompey’s Pillar

An 82-foot-tall (25-meter) granite column dedicated to Emperor Diocletian, who liberated the besieged city and fed its starving citizens.

Citadel of Qaitbay

A stronghold on the Mediterranean coast was built in the 15th century. Sultan Al-Ashraf Qa’it Bay established it in 1477 AD. The Citadel of Qaitbay is located near Pharos Island.

Lunch will be served at a seafood restaurant, and your Alexandria day tour will conclude with a visit to:

Alexandria Library

The library houses a copy of every book ever published, making it one of the world’s most important literary destinations. The Alexandria Library also holds various exhibitions on Egyptian history as well as a collection of rare antique books.

We will transfer you back to your Cairo hotel for the night at the end of the day.

Day 4: Bask in the Beauty of Aswan as the Sun Rays Fall: After breakfast, check out and transfer to Cairo airport, where you will fly to Aswan to continue your Egypt Christmas vacation by visiting the following Aswan tourist attractions:

The High Dam

It was erected between 1960 and 1970 across the Nile River at Aswan, and it has had a profound impact on Egypt’s economy and culture.

The Unfinished Obelisk

Ancient Egypt’s largest obelisk. Hatshepsut (1508-1458 BC) commissioned it to accompany the Lateran Obelisk (which was originally at Karnak) and had it transported to the Lateran Palace in Rome.

Temple of Philae

The goddess Isis of Love and Beauty is honored in Philae Temple. As part of the UNESCO Nubia Campaign initiative, the temple complex was deconstructed and transported to neighboring Agilkia Island, safeguarding it and other monuments before the Aswan High Dam was completed in 1970.

After a full day of sightseeing, move on board a 5* deluxe Nile cruise for lunch and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Visit Abu Simbel’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Breakfast boxes in the morning, then accompany your private tour guide for a visit to Abu Simbel Temple, one of the world’s most historically significant sites:

Temples of Abu Simbel

The two Temples of Abu Simbel are regarded as marvels of Ancient Egypt because of their unique style. The Temples are rock-cut temples that were created during King Ramses II’s reign in 1200 B.C. King Ramses II is honored in one temple, while his loving wife Queen Nefertari is honored in the other. Both temples are adorned with magnificent sculptures and artwork. This temple has hand-carved pillars, wall murals, sculptures, statues, and much more.

Return to your cruise for lunch and the rest of the night.

Day 6: Visit the Edfu and Kom Ombo Temples: After breakfast, sail to Kom Ombo and visit:

Temple of Kom Ombo

The Kom Ombo Temple is a Nile-facing temple. There are two temples with two entrances, two hypostyle halls, and two sanctuaries in this temple. Continue your journey to:

Edfu temple

Dedicated to Horus, the Egyptian god. Edfu Temple is Egypt’s best-preserved Greco-Roman temple, with a “Play” depicting Horus’ victory over the wicked god Seth painted on its walls.

Have lunch on board and then sail to Luxor, arriving late at night and spending the night on board.

Day 7: Visit Luxor’s Ancient Treasures: After breakfast and checking out of the cruise, you will be escorted by your tour guide and a private air-conditioned vehicle to begin the next phase of your Christmas trip in Egypt, which will include visits to the following Luxor tourist attractions:

Karnak Temple

The Karnak temple is Egypt’s most spectacular structure. It is the world’s largest temple complex, and it represents the labor of many generations of ancient builders and Pharaohs. On 247 acres of land, the Temple of Karnak consists of three main temples, smaller enclosed temples, and other peripheral temples.

Then transfer to a 5* hotel in Luxor to check in and enjoy lunch, after which go to visit:

Luxor Temple by Night

The most important event, the festival of Opet, was held at the Temple of Luxor. The temple’s aim was to serve as a setting for the festival’s rites, and it was mostly built by Amenhotep III and Ramses II. The purpose of the event was to reconcile the ruler’s human side with his celestial role.

Return to your accommodation for the night at the conclusion of the day.

Day 8: Return to Luxor to complete your discovery journey: Have breakfast and check out of your accommodation in the morning, then join your Egyptologist tour guide for a tour of Luxor’s West Bank attractions, beginning with:

The Kings’ Valley

The Valley of the Kings is home to the tombs of Egypt’s kings from the 18th to the 20th dynasties, including the great pharaoh Ramses II and the boy pharaoh Tutankhamun. The tombs were well-stocked with everything a monarch may require in the afterlife. The majority of the interior décor of the tombs has been beautifully conserved.

Temple of Hatshepsut

Hatshepsut Temple is one of the most gorgeous and well-preserved of all Ancient Egyptian temples. The temple was constructed on three levels, with two large ramps connecting the floors in the center.

Memnon’s Colossi

The only remnants of a complete funerary temple are two huge stone statues of King Amenhotep III. The Colossi of Memnon are built from quartzite sandstone blocks found in Cairo and transported 700 kilometers to Luxor.

After lunch at an amazing restaurant in Luxor, transfer to Hurghada in a private air-conditioned vehicle and check in to a 5* hotel for the remainder of the day.

Day 9: Let the Red Sea spoil your soul: Breakfast is served in the morning, and you may relax and enjoy the rest of your journey on Hurghada’s beautiful beaches.

Day 10: Dive Into the Underwater World’s Allure: Snorkeling is a terrific method to appreciate the reefs and the undersea world’s splendor! A short boat journey takes you to the Red Sea’s stunning, clear waters, where you may see interesting aquatic life. Returning to your hotel for the night.

Day 11: Take a stroll around Cairo’s historic Old City: After breakfast, check out of your Hurghada hotel and we’ll drive you to the Hurghada airport to catch your flight to Cairo, where you’ll meet a private tour guide to finish your Christmas vacation in Egypt by visiting Cairo’s major landmarks like:

The Egyptian Museum

The Egyptian Museum houses a unique 5000-year-old art collection. Over 250,000 real objects are on display, including an exhibit dedicated to Tutankhamun’s riches, gold, and jewels, which were kept safe for over 3,500 years in his tomb.

Lunch will be served at a local Cairo restaurant before visiting:

Citadel of Salah El Din

Cairo Citadel is a majestic citadel that served as Egypt’s center of government until the 1860s. It was built under the reign of Salah ad-Din. Work on the structure began in 1176 and was finished in 1182.

Mohamed Ali Mosque

Mohamed Ali Mosque was built between 1830 and 1848 and is known as “The Alabaster Mosque” due to the majority of the walls being made of flawless alabaster. The mosque is a copy of Istanbul’s Blue Mosque.

The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization

The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) is offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to fully explore Egypt’s immortal essence, with the help of the most captivating monuments and artifacts that showcase the history and culture of Egypt’s periods from Pre-historical times to the Ancient Egyptian Periods, Greco-Roman, Coptic, Islamic, and finally Contemporary Modern Times.

Bazaar of Khan El Khalili

A vacation to Cairo would be incomplete without a stop at the Khan El-Khalili bazaar, the Middle East’s oldest and most famous bazaar. It was built about 970 AD, the same year that Cairo was founded.

What People Say About Us
5/5

Thank you Egypt Fun Tours for a most memorable trip. I admit I didn’t do any of the planning (it was all done by my boyfriend) but as you can read in the reviews below Hani (the owner of Egypt Fun Tours) is superbly organized and accommodating with scheduling.

My boyfriend and I, and our dearest mutual friend, booked the 7Days-6Nights tour. In short time, we visited Cairo, Aswan, and Luxor sailing down the down the Nile, pit stopping to see key sites at these location – and so much more!!! We got to know the ancient and modern egypt in depth thanks to Hani’s impressive knowledge. He also enlightened us on the people and their beliefs and went as far as showing us what a typical life looks like. I cannot express the level of personalized service Hani offered us. He was flexible to adapt to our requirements and added sites to our schedule that was not part of the tour simply to ensure we were 100% satisfied with our experience in Egypt.

I went to Egypt practically blind-folded, not knowing what to expect, especially considering the time we had decided to go (December 2020 – we were the first group that Hani met with after months of having to put his tour agency on hold considering the pandemic) yet he managed to surpass all of our expectations. I felt so incredibly lucky for us to have stumbled on Hani. I would recommend Egypt Fun Tours to anyone and everyone. It was truly, HANDS DOWN, the best cultural experience I’ve ever had. You’ll be in the best of hands.

Hamada was incredible! So knowledgeable and kind. He had information about every item, street corner, and relic we looked at. Any questions we had, he had answers! He even made sure to give us tips while walking through the crowds so that’s we would feel more comfortable when being approached by vendors. Oh and the food?! He took us to the best places! Delicious food!! We tried Egyptian fried chicken, falafel for the first time, the best shawarma in the city (we love food). We even got to meet his beautiful wife and children and try some “French” Egyptian coffee in their home! Truly made friends for life!! We’ve promised to host him and the family when they travel to America for the first time! Such an incredible experience, and Hamada (and family) made it that much more memorable and amazing!

Excellent trip to historic sites with no one else around. We came to see Egypt while most places still had COVID19 fears. The staff at Egypt Fun Tours were professional, safe, and great to deal with. Very helpful, knowledgeable, and entertaining. I feel like I just got a a year of Egyptology in the last week and we had all the sites to ourselves due to COVID19. While people are shutting down and staying home you should feel safe to come explore with Egypt Fun Tours and have the place to yourself.
