What was the date of Queen Nefertari’s death?

She was about 40 or 50 years old when she died in 1256 B.C. Her tomb is a true example of superb decorations and a pure representation of the significance of women during ancient Egyptian culture. It was erected by Ramses II and is the most magnificent and biggest tomb in The Valley of The Queens. It was beautifully adorned with captivating hues and well-preserved wall murals representing her everyday life, poetry, and sacred scripture from the Book of the Dead. Tomb robbers took her mummy and sarcophagus, although the Egyptian museum still has part of her tomb’s remnants.

Abu Simbel’s Nefertari Temple

Ramses II demonstrated his love and devotion to Nefertari by erecting a temple for her in Abu Simbel Temples, just a hundred meters from his grand temple. It was the smallest of the Abu Simbel Temples, dedicated to Hathor (goddess of joy, love, and happiness), with a large statue of her, Ramses, and the gods.
