Day 1: Transfer to Aswan and Explore Aswan’s Attractions

In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in a private, modern A.C. car for your journey to Luxor. There, you’ll catch a first-class train to Aswan. The High Dam: Builders constructed this across the Nile at Aswan between 1960 and 1970. It has significantly impacted Egypt’s economy and culture.

The Unfinished Obelisk: This stands as the largest obelisk from ancient times. Queen Hatshepsut (1508-1458 BC) ordered it to complement the Lateran Obelisk (originally from Karnak Temple). Later, they brought it to the Lateran Palace in Rome.

Philae Temple: This temple dedicated itself to the goddess Isis of Love and beauty. As part of the UNESCO Nubia Campaign project, workers dismantled and relocated the temple complex to nearby Agilkia Island. This effort protected it and other complexes before the Aswan High Dam’s completion in 1970.

He intended them as lasting monuments to himself and his queen Nefertari, commemorating his victory at the Battle of Kadesh.
