Dear Friends, just a quick word to say we all arrived home safely and are slowly easing back into our everyday lives again. After all the great things we did and saw in Egypt it’s going to be tough. A big ‘thank you’ to you all once again for a truly memorable trip. A very warm “shukran” to Omar and Hamade, our top class guides. We got just the right amount of knowledge to understand things properly but not too much to drown us. Getting that balance right is an important skill. Both were keen to respond in detail to our myriad questions prompted by the incredible sights we saw. Thanks, too, to all the drivers we had during our stay for their promptness and professionalism. We felt safe throughout and when one sees the traffic in Cairo that’s a real bonus. And finally, a huge thank you to Hani for his tireless efforts to personally set us up with a unique experience, tailored to our every wish and more. Based on a solid backbone programme that included worldclass sights in Cairo, Luxor and beyond, we were able to tailor things further to our particular needs, including a day trip to the not-to-be-missed sites of Dendera and Abydos. The Nour El Din dahabiyya trip between Esna and Aswan was a veritable tour de force, allowing us not only to relax in luxury but to visit top tourist sites along the way and savour everyday life along the Nile as cruised along.
