8-Day Classic Egypt Tour Itinerary

Part 1: Arrival & The Great Pyramids

Day 1: Welcome to Egypt – Cairo Arrival

  • First, you will arrive in Cairo and meet your friendly guide from Egypt Fun Tours.
  • After that, we will provide an easy ride to your hotel so you can check in quickly.
  • Finally, you can relax and spend your first night resting in Cairo.

Day 2: The Pyramids of Giza, Saqqara & Memphis

  • To start the day, you will have a lovely breakfast at your hotel.
  • Next, you will meet your private guide for an amazing visit to the Giza Pyramids and the Step Pyramid of Saqqara. You will also see the ancient city of Memphis and the Dahshur Pyramids.
  • Later in the evening, you will transfer to the station to take the sleeper train to Aswan.
  • Additionally, a warm dinner will be served on board the train.

Part 2: Southern Egypt & The River Nile

Day 3: Aswan Highlights & Nile Felucca Sailing

  • In the morning, enjoy a tasty breakfast on board the sleeper train.
  • Upon arriving in Aswan, your sightseeing begins with a visit to the famous High Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk.
  • Following this, you will eat lunch at a local Nubian restaurant.
  • Then, you can enjoy a relaxing ride on a traditional Felucca sailboat on the Nile. During this ride, you will see the Agha Khan Mausoleum and Elephantine Island.
  • Lastly, you will check in at your Aswan hotel for the night.

Day 4: The Temples of Abu Simbel

  • Because this is a big day, you will receive an early wake-up call along with a packed breakfast box.
  • Afterward, you will take a morning trip to the stunning rock-cut temples of Abu Simbel.
  • Once you return in the afternoon, you will explore the lively Aswan bazaar with your guide.
  • You will then spend the night at your Aswan hotel.

Part 3: The Overland Journey to Luxor

Day 5: Edfu, Kom Ombo & The West Bank

  • First of all, enjoy breakfast at your hotel before you check out.
  • As you travel toward Luxor, you will stop to visit the beautiful temples of Kom Ombo and Edfu.
  • Next, you will have lunch on the West Bank of the Nile in Luxor.
  • After lunch, your guide will take you through the famous Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon.
  • To end the day, check in at your Luxor hotel and enjoy a beautiful night visit to Luxor Temple.

Day 6: Karnak Temple & West Bank Treasures

  • Start your morning with a fresh breakfast at your hotel.
  • Furthermore, you will continue your West Bank tour with visits to the Temple of Medinet Habu and the Ramesseum. You will also see the Valley of the Queens and the Tombs of the Nobles.
  • Following a delicious lunch, you will cross to the East Bank to explore the huge Karnak Temple complex.
  • Finally, we will transfer you to the Luxor train station to catch your overnight sleeper train back to Cairo.

Part 4: Historic Cairo & Final Departure

Day 7: Egyptian Museum, Citadel & Khan El-Khalili

  • To begin, you will have breakfast on the sleeper train.
  • When you arrive in Cairo, you will meet your private guide again. Together, you will explore the Egyptian Museum, the old Citadel of Saladin, and the busy Khan El-Khalili market.
  • Afterward, you will check in at your Cairo hotel for your last night.

Day 8: Final Departure from Cairo

  • For your last morning, eat breakfast at your hotel.
  • Then, you will meet your guide for a final transfer to Cairo International Airport for your flight home.
  • Therefore, this marks the end of your 8-Day Classic Egypt Tour.
