Makadi Bay Excursion to Luxor & Abu Simbel in Two Days

Day 1: Makadi Bay to Luxor – Luxor Attractions

On the first day, you will be picked up from your Makadi Bay hotel by an AC vehicle to begin your two-day trip to Luxor and Abu Simbel. When you arrive, you will be met by a private tour guide who will show you:

The Valley of Kings

Your Makadi Bay excursions will take you inside the mountain to a heavenly necropolis that serves as a haven for 63 mesmerizing tombs dating from the new kingdom (1570-1070 BC) and containing incredible treasures, golden artifacts, captivating decorations, and the remains of famous pharaohs such as King Rameses II, Tutankhamun, and others.

Temple of Hatshepsut

On the first day of your magical day tour to Luxor, you will see one of Egypt’s most protected archaeological and attractive destinations, “Deir El-Bahari” A.K.A Djeser-Djeseru (Holy of Holies), which stands as the finest example of ancient Egyptian architecture and showcases Queen Hatshepsut’s great long heritage (1478-1485 BC).

Memnon’s Colossi

During the two-day journey from Makadi Bay to Luxor and Abu Simbel, you will have the opportunity to see an 18-meter-high (60-foot-tall) marvel at the gateway to Luxor. The Colossi of Memnon were built to resemble Pharaoh Amenhotep III (1386-1350) and were destroyed by an earthquake in 27 BC, only to be reassembled in 199 BC.

Lunch will be provided on an island, followed by a boat ride on the Nile, before you go to:

Temple of Karnak

The two-day excursion from Makadi Bay to Luxor and Abu Simbel will allow you to explore one of the largest artificial religious structures and open-air museums on the planet, dating back to 1500 BC. Spanning 247 acres, it houses various temples that served as worship centers for the Theban triad.

Next, you’ll be driven to the railway station to catch your first-class train to Aswan, where you’ll head straight to your hotel for the night.

Day 2: Tour to Abu Simbel and return to Makadi Bay

End your Makadi Bay Excursion to Luxor & Abu Simbel in Two Days by visiting Abu Simbel temples. You will have your breakfast boxes and check out of the hotel in the early morning, then join your private tour guide for a visit to the famed Abu Simbel.

Temples of Abu Simbel

Your two-day Makadi Bay Excursion to Luxor and Abu Simbel takes you to a remarkable masterpiece created in 1200 BC by Ramses the Great to immortalize his legacy and love for Queen Nefertari.

Built between 1264 BC and 1244 BC, it honors the ancient Egyptian deities during the Miracle Sun Festival, held every year on February 22nd and October 22nd.

After your tour, you’ll head to Aswan for lunch at a local restaurant before boarding your first-class train to Luxor, returning to your hotel in Makadi Bay.

Amazing tour to the pyramids of Sakkara and Dahshur

January 1, 2025

This week we had a great tour with Mohamed to the pyramids of Sakkara and Dahshur as well as Memphis. He tailored the tour to our preferences, took a lot of time with us and gave us detailed background information on everything. It was also great that he never tired of taking the time to answer our many questions.

You can definitely tell that he has studied Egyptology as he has a very deep understanding of the subject and can explain everything well. He also speaks perfect English and is really good driver.

We would definitely book a tour with him again in a heartbeat and would recommend him to anyone. 🙂

Amazing Egypt Fun Tours

Highly Recommend Egypt Fun Tours!

Several weeks ago, I reached out to Egypt Fun Tours regarding a 9-hour layover in Cairo. From the very beginning, Hani Ahmed was responsive and professional, quickly providing a well-organized itinerary tailored to our limited time. The itinerary included a visit to the pyramids, other historical sites, a delicious dinner, and even a quick stop for souvenir shopping.

Upon arrival, Gilman efficiently assisted us in obtaining our day tourist visas (note: $25 per person in cash). She then introduced us to our guide, Mydo, who was absolutely phenomenal! Mydo’s knowledge, friendly demeanor, and ability to adjust the tour to our pace made the experience unforgettable.

We returned to the airport with plenty of time to relax before our flight. The entire experience was smooth, stress-free, and incredibly memorable. Egypt Fun Tours offers reasonable prices for a private, customized experience that truly exceeds expectations. Thank you, Egypt Fun Tours! We will definitely use your services again in the future.

Alexandria! Wow!

November 7, 2024

Muhammad is the best! He showed me a world I never thought possible! The tombs in Alexandria by far was my favorite! I never knew there was a place on earth that contained both Greek and Egyptian carvings in the same tombs! The history and culture of Egypt is so fascinating! I highly recommend booking with Muhammad!
