Giza Pyramids Complex

The Great Sphinx, the Valley Temple, six smaller pyramids, and three smaller pyramids make up the complex. The structure is 2400 years old, from the 4th dynasty.

The Great Pyramid

The only preserved pyramid among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, it is the oldest and biggest of the three pyramids on the Giza plateau. Additionally, “King Khufu” owns it. The Great Pyramid is 147 meters high, was erected over 20 years, and 2,300,000 stones were utilized in its construction.

The Great Sphinx

“King Chephren” owns the Great Sphinx. With dimensions of 73 meters long, 19 meters wide, and 20 meters high, it is the biggest statue in the world. The monument has the earliest known sculpture in it.

The Valley Temple

There is just one extant ancient Egyptian granite funerary temple on the Giza plateau, and it was used for mummification.

Proceed to the Pyramids / Nile View restaurant for lunch, and then go on with your Cairo and Nile Cruise vacations by visiting:

Step Pyramid of Saqqara

It was built during the time of King Djoser, who governed Egypt in the 27th century B.C. and is regarded as the oldest significant example of cut stone architecture. The 62-meter-tall Saqqara step pyramid is made up of six steps that are erected on top of one another.

City of Memphis

The first capital of all of Egypt established by King Menes, it had a key location between Upper and Lower Egypt. Ptah, the creator deity and guardian of art, was said to be watching over Memphis.

Finally, we return you to your hotel where you may spend the night.

Day 3: Visit the landmarks of Alexandria: Following breakfast in the morning, take a drive to Alexandria in an air-conditioned automobile with a private tour guide to see the following sites:

Kom El Shoqafa’s catacombs

a Roman cemetery where a family tomb exhibits the fusion of Roman and Egyptian design. To see the tomb and Caracalla Hall, go underneath.

Return to the surface and continue your visit:

Pompey’s Pillar

a 25-meter-tall (82-foot) granite column erected as a monument to Emperor Diocletian, who liberated the besieged city and provided food for its hungry citizens.

Citadel of Qaitbay

On the Mediterranean seashore, a castle from the fifteenth century. In the year 1477, Sultan Al-Ashraf Qa’it Bay founded it. In the same location as Pharos Island lies the Qaitbay Citadel.

You will have lunch at a seafood restaurant before concluding your tour of Alexandria by going to:

Alexandria Library

The library is one of the world’s greatest literary institutions since it has copies of every book ever written. The Alexandria Library also has several displays of Egyptian history as well as a collection of priceless old books.

Day 4: Fly to Aswan and see the highlights of Aswan: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, check out, and then take a flight to Aswan to continue your Cairo and Nile Cruise vacations. Begin by seeing the following Aswan tourist attractions:

The High Dam

It was erected over the Nile River at Aswan between 1960 and 1970, and its construction had a tremendous impact on Egypt’s economy and culture.

The Unfinished Obelisk

the biggest obelisk from antiquity. It was acquired by the Lateran Palace in Rome after being commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut (1508 1458 BC) to match the Karnak Obelisk, which was originally at Karnak.

Temple of Philae

Goddess Isis of Love and Beauty is honored in the Philae Temple. As part of the UNESCO Nubia Campaign initiative, the temple complex was disassembled and moved to the adjacent island of Agilkia Island to safeguard it and other sites before the Aswan High Dam was finished in 1970.

Transfer to a 5* luxury Nile cruise to check in at the end of the day so you may have lunch and spend the night there.

Day 5: Explore the Abu Simbel Temples: Breakfast boxes first thing in the morning, then follows your tour guide to see Abu Simbel Temple, one of the most important historical sites on earth:

Abu Simbel Temples

The two Temples of Abu Simbel are regarded as the pinnacles of Ancient Egypt due to their distinctive architecture. Both of the Temples were erected during the time of King Ramses II about 1200 B.C., and both are rock-cut constructions. King Ramses II is honored in one temple, while his loving wife Queen Nefertari is honored in another. Both temples are beautifully decorated with sculptures and artwork. This temple is a must-see since it has hand-carved pillars, wall paintings, sculptures, statues, and much more.

After lunch, go back to your ship to spend the night.

Day 6: Explore the Edfu and Kom Ombo Temples: Sailing to Kom Ombo, stop by:

Temple of Kom Ombo

a temple with a view of the Nile. The Kom Ombo Temple is split into two separate temples, each having its entrance, a hypo-style hall, and shrines.

Continue your journey to:

Temple in Edfu

Honoring the god Horus. The Edfu Temple is the most well-preserved Greco-Roman structure in all of Egypt, and a “Play” depicting Horus’ victory over the malevolent deity Seth is painted on its walls.

Sail to Luxor after eating lunch aboard the cruise, arriving late at night, and spending the night on board.

After lunch, go to check in at a 5-star hotel in Luxor. In the evening, continue to visit:

Luxor Temple by Night

The most significant event, the festival of Opet, was centered on the Temple of Luxor. The temple aimed to serve as a venue for the festival’s ceremonies, and it was mostly built by Amenhotep III and Rameses II. The purpose of the event was to bring the ruler’s divine and human halves closer together.

Transfer back to your hotel for the night after the day.

The tombs were fully furnished with everything a monarch may want in the afterlife in terms of material things. The majority of the tomb decorations are still in good condition.

Temple of Hatshepsut

One of the most stunning and well-preserved of all the Egyptian temples is the Hatshepsut Temple. The temple was constructed on three levels, connected by two large ramps in the middle.

Memnon’s Colossi

Egypt Fun Tours - Valley of Whales Day Trip - AMAZING EXPERIENCE

June 12, 2024

Jan 2013 • Family

My family and I were visiting Egypt for only 5 days, so we contact Egypt Fun Tours to see what they could suggest we can do for one day. Fortunately, after looking at their website, they had a category with EXACTLY what we needed – Cairo Day Tours! Given that this was our fourth visit to Cairo, and definitely NOT our first experience touring with EFT, Hani and Mohammad immediately came up with a plan for us, where we would visit a new place and experience the most incredible views; (we’ve already seen the pyramids, museum, citadel, etc). Our trip was to the Valley of the Whales! I won’t give away too much information, but it required an approximately three hour van ride into the open desert (TOTALLY different from the desert in Valley of the Kings, Abu Simbel, etc) and when we got there, the view was breathtaking! We were entertained by Hani’s Egyptian History trivia, as well as the adventurous van ride for several kilometers through the sand! We also had the opportunity to pass through the Fayyoum Oasis and to visit the Waterfalls all in one trip! Almost forgot to mention the DELICIOUS lunch with Bedouins! This is not a very common trip among tourists, but it definitely should be! If you have seen all of Egypt’s “main” attractions, you haven’t seen everything yet! Bring your camera and your sneakers and enjoy a wonderful day at the Valley of the Whales and all nearby attractions! As if our day wasn’t incredible enough, Hani and Mohammad took us to Old Cairo at night to a gorgeous coffee shop – Oum Kolsoum – to drink tea and coffee and then delivered us back to our hotel. Thank you so much Egypt Fun Tours for another memorable experience! See you soon inshallah!
