Day 1: Hurghada to Cairo – Explore the Giza Pyramids Complex

In the morning, we’ll pick you up from your Hurghada hotel in a private, modern vehicle and transfer you to the Hurghada bus station. You’ll then take a first-class bus to Cairo. Upon arrival at the Cairo bus station, our Egyptologist tour guide will meet you to begin your journey. You’ll discover ancient Egyptian civilization at one of the Seven Wonders of the World:

Giza Pyramids Complex

The Giza Pyramids complex features three main pyramids, six smaller pyramids, the magnificent Great Sphinx, and the Valley Temple. This impressive complex dates back to the 4th dynasty, 2400 B.C.

The Great Pyramid Belonging to King Khufu, this stands as the oldest and largest of the three pyramids on the Giza plateau. It remains the only intact structure from the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World. The Great Pyramid reaches 147m in height. Its construction used 2,300,000 stones and took twenty years to complete.

The Great Sphinx This colossal statue belongs to King Chephren. It is the largest statue in the world, measuring 73m long, 19m wide, and 20m high. It holds the title of the oldest known monumental sculpture.

The Valley Temple

Ancient Egyptians used this granite mortuary temple for the mummification process, and it remains the only one on the Giza plateau.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Afterward, you’ll move on to visit Egypt’s oldest pyramid:

Saqqara Step Pyramid Considered the earliest large-scale cut stone construction, the Saqqara Step Pyramid dates back to the reign of King Djoser in the 27th century B.C. This pyramid consists of 6 steps built atop one another, reaching a height of 62m, and features its own complex.

Finally, we’ll transfer you to a 5-star hotel in Cairo for your overnight stay.

Day 2: Tour Old Cairo – Return to Hurghada

After breakfast, check out from your hotel. Your private tour guide will accompany you as you continue your tour from Hurghada to Cairo, exploring the Coptic and Islamic sights of Cairo, starting with:

The Egyptian Museum

The Egyptian Museum proudly displays a rare collection spanning 5000 years of art. Over 250,000 genuine artifacts are presented, including a dedicated exhibit to Tutankhamun’s collection of treasure, gold, and jewelry, which remained enclosed in his tomb for over 3,500 years.

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Cairo. Then, continue your trip by visiting:

Salah El Din Citadel The magnificent Cairo Citadel served as Egypt’s seat of government until the 1860s. Its construction began during Salah El Din’s reign in 1176 and finished in 1182.

Mohamed Ali Mosque

Constructed between 1830 and 1848, this mosque earned the name “The Alabaster Mosque” because most of its walls consist of pure alabaster. The Mohamed Ali Mosque stands as a replica of the Blue Mosque in Istanbul.

The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) The NMEC offers a journey across time and space. Every traveler will explore Egypt’s magical history and culture through the sight of the rarest monuments and artifacts ever created in human history.

Finally, enjoy visiting:

Khan El Khalili Bazaar

No visit to Cairo is complete without a stop at the Khan El-Khalili Bazaar. It is the oldest and most famous bazaar in the Middle East, constructed in 970 AD, the same year as Cairo’s founding. Then, we’ll transfer you to the Cairo bus station to catch a first-class bus back to Hurghada. Upon arrival, we’ll transfer you to your hotel, concluding your day trip from Hurghada to Cairo by bus.

Goes well beyond “tour”

I am tempted to say “my friend Hani” runs an amazing service, because that is how he makes you feel. I first went on the 9-hour layover tour in summer 2011. Hani and driver picked me up at the airport at 3am, and by the time I left at noon
