Tour Itinerary

Detailed itinerary of the Nile Cruise from Soma Bay for 5 Days

Day 1: Check-in at the Cruise and Transfer to Luxor East Attractions: Everything will start when you are picked up by a private air-conditioned vehicle from your hotel in Soma Bay, then you will board the Nile cruise and meet your tour guide to start your 5-day Nile cruise, commencing with:

Temple of Karnak

From 2055 BC until 100 AD, it was regarded as one of the largest buildings ever built, earning it the distinction of being the largest man-made, outdoor museum on the planet. From the middle kingdom to the Greco-Roman era, the Karnak temple may be used to demonstrate the degree of wealth and provide a window into the religious milieu of ancient Egypt. It is spread out across 247 acres and has 25 temples, statuses, and obelisks that are worth investigating.

After checking in on the Nile cruise, where you will have lunch, you will proceed to when darkness falls.

Luxor Temple by Night

The Luxor Temple, built about 1400 BC and home to the Theban Triad, is the place to be if you find yourself in Luxor during the grace of the night and want to see something unique. It is also connected to the Karnak Temple by the famed Avenue of Sphinxes.

The trip will spend the night at sea. Meals for lunch and supper will be served on the trip.

Day 2: Day Trip to the West Bank of Luxor and a Sail to Edfu: After breakfast aboard the ship, you will go to the following destinations with a private tour guide and air-conditioned car:

The Kings’ Valley

The Valley of the Kings is a unique structure built into the side of a mountain and contains 63 tombs for various kings and queens, including Seti I, Tutankhamun, Hatshepsut, and others. The Egyptian Museum is home to the 20 royal tombs from the New Kingdom (1570–1070 BC), which are full of amazing jewels and artifacts.

Temple of Hatshepsut

The magnificent temple of Queen Hatshepsut (1479–1458 BC), which was constructed in 1479 BC to worship Amun and preserve the memory of Hatshepsut, is the largest, most beautiful, and best-preserved temple ever constructed in the history of the world.

Memnon’s Colossi

The Colossi of Memnon, one of Luxor’s largest buildings, was built by Amenhotep III (1386–1350) to stand in front of his temple in Cairo but was eventually relocated there to serve as the city’s everlasting watchman. It stands 18 meters tall and gained fame throughout the Greco-Roman era for its ethereal singing tones. Sail to Ensa and Edfu in the afternoon. Edfu overnight stay Meals for breakfast, lunch, and supper will be served throughout the voyage.

Day 3: Visit the temples at Edfu and Kom Ombo and sail to Aswan: After breakfast, you will continue your trip down the Nile from Soma Bay to:

Temple in Edfu

The Edfu temple, one of the last of its type, was built in the Ptolemaic era (237–27 BC) to honor Horus, the deity of triumph and the sky falcon, and serves as a perfect illustration of the beautiful fusion of pharaonic and ancient greek architecture and culture.

You will keep sailing till you reach Kom Ombo to see:

Temple of Kom Ombo

The Kom Ombo temple, also known as the Hill of Gold, is a unique building that is situated on the Nile’s beaches. It has a double-temple design that honors the crocodile deity Sobek and Horus.

We’ll spend the night in Aswan. Meals for breakfast, lunch, and supper will be served throughout the voyage.

Day 4: Visit Attractions in Aswan and Night on the Cruise: After breakfast in the morning, you will be shown exactly where to:

The High Dam

During your five-day Nile cruise, you will see the Aswan high dam, one of the few buildings ever erected in upper Egypt. It was built in the 1960s and 1970s to defend against Nile floods and to provide energy.

The Unfinished Obelisk

The largest obelisk in Egypt was built at the request of Queen Hatshepsut to stand at the entrance of the Karnak temple, but it was tragically destroyed. Queen Hatshepsut constantly sought to prove her superiority.

Temple of Philae

Aswan’s Philae Temple, which was built between 380 and 362 BC during the Ptolemaic period and serves as the residence of Isis, the goddess of motherhood, is recognized for its grace and charm. The narrative of Osiris is told in the temple, which is well-known for it.

On the boat, you will spend the night. Meals for breakfast, lunch, and supper will be served throughout the voyage.

The last day of your Nile Cruise from Soma Bay for 5 Days: Your five-day Nile cruise from Soma Bay will come to an end when you check off of the ship the next morning after eating breakfast. You will take a first-class train to Luxor and then drive back to your hotel.

Alexandria! Wow!

Muhammad is the best! He showed me a world I never thought possible! The tombs in Alexandria by far was my favorite! I never knew there was a place on earth that contained both Greek and Egyptian carvings in the same tombs! The history and culture of Egypt is so fascinating! I highly recommend booking with Muhammad!

AMAZING TOUR, SOLO TRAVELER.

October 12, 2024

I am a California woman who traveled to Egypt alone and thanks to Egypt Fun Tours I had a great time. Hani, Mohammed, Kamal and David (my driver) were very professional and very knowledgeable, I appreciate how respectful they were and how protective they were with me.

They show me everything I wanted to see in Cairo and nearby places like Saqqara, Memphis, etc. Thanks to them I had a great time in Egypt, they were so so helpful than on my second day they helped me to move from my hotel in Giza to the Steigenberger hotel in downtown Cairo.

The tour price is super good includes a guide (expert in the field) a driver, lunch and drinks, they took me to amazing places for lunch, the food was super super delicious, for a foodie like me that was a highlight. We went out fo the tourist traps and I got to see the Cairo that if you are in a bus tour you will never get to see.

This tour is personalized for each person depending of what you want to see and do, I absolutely love it.

I used WhatsApp to communicate with Hani and arranged all my tours, Hani was super super nice since the moment I contacted him and explained him what I wanted to do and see.

Hani and his group mesmerized me with the tours they put together, this is a memory I will keep for lifetime.

I had only good things to say about them and I highly recommend them.

I did visit the pyramids in Giza, downtown Cairo, new Cairo, several museums, Coptic Cairo and Muslim Cairo with them and I learned a lot from them, I felt like they were family to me and it was EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT.

If I go back to Egypt I will hire them again without hesitation.

David I take my hat off for you because I have NO IDEA how you can drive in crazy Cairo, thanks to all of you for making this lady’s dream a reality.
