Embark on a 4-Day Desert Adventure, featuring the White Desert and Wadi El-Hitan from Cairo. Imagine witnessing 40-million-year-old whales and even sleeping at the ocean’s bottom! 4-Day Desert Adventure Itinerary

1st day: Cairo to Bahariyya

  • Morning: Depart early (7:00 AM) for Bahariya Oasis (365 km, approx. 4-hour drive).
  • Arrival: Lunch at a local restaurant upon arrival at Bawiti Center of Bahariya.
  • Afternoon: Check in at the hotel and rest. Visit local sights, including the Golden Mummies Museum and the Nobles’ Tombs of the 26th dynasty.
  • Evening: Jeep safari to discover hot and cool springs, gardens, farms, the largest lake in the oasis, Bedouin houses, and Jabal el-Dest (Pyramid Mountain). Climb English Mountain for sunset views.
  • Optional: Stop at a local café for tea.
  • Dinner: Enjoy dinner and overnight at the hotel.

2nd day: White Desert Camp, Bahariyya

  • Morning: Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Transfer: Jeep safari to Al-Haiz, passing dunes, Algabal Almarsous, and the Black Desert (with a climb for the best view).
  • Lunch: In El-Haiz (40 km from Bawiti).
  • Afternoon: Continue to the White Desert, stopping at key sites like Crystal Mountain, the Ashgabat area, natural formations, and Malachite Valley.
  • Arrival: Reach the White Desert in time for sunset.
  • Evening: Enjoy a Bedouin-prepared barbecue dinner under the stars, complete with Bedouin tea—overnight camping.

3rd day: White Desert to Wadi Hitan

  • Morning: Early wake-up for sunrise. Breakfast in the White Desert.
  • Transfer: Jeep Safari back to Bawiti for a quick shower and change.
  • Travel: Head to Wadi Hitan, stopping at Wadi El Sant and Wadi Hian Panorama for lunch.
  • Arrival: Explore Wadi El-Hitan, including the Fossils and Climate Change Museum and the Open Museum of Whale Fossils.
  • Evening: Experience a barbecue dinner and overnight stay. Enjoy sleeping on the ocean bed of the ancient Tethys Sea.

Last day: Wadi El-Rayyan to Fayoum

  • Morning: Sunrise and breakfast.
  • Travel: Journey to Wadi El-Rayyan, stopping at Mudawara Mountain for scenic views.
  • Explore: Visit the Wadi El-Rayyan Protected Area, featuring lakes, waterfalls, and birdwatching.
  • Lunch: Enjoy a meal at a lakeside fish restaurant.
  • Return: Transfer back to Cairo.
