The museum has a vast collection of Pharaonic antiquities, including items from Tutankhamun’s tomb, showcasing Egypt’s rich history and culture. Founded in 1858 by French Egyptologist Auguste Mariette, it features about 120,000 items, though only a small fraction is on display due to space limitations, covering periods from prehistoric Egypt to the Roman era.
