The 48-Hour Luxor Masterclass: An Elite Fly-In Residency

Step beyond the typical tourist path and immerse yourself in the epicenter of the ancient world with our Private 2-Day Luxor Tour from Cairo by Air. While a single day offers a glimpse, this 48-hour residency allows you to truly breathe in the atmosphere of Thebes—the legendary capital of the New Kingdom. By utilizing seamless domestic flights, we eliminate the fatigue of travel, placing you directly into the heart of Upper Egypt for a deep-dive exploration of the monuments that defined an empire. This is the definitive choice for the traveler who seeks to understand not just the “what,” but the “how” and “why” of Pharaonic glory.

A Chronological Odyssey through the City of the Gods

Over two meticulously planned days, you will witness the sun rise over the East Bank and set behind the peaks of the West Bank, tracing the eternal cycle of life and the afterlife. Under the guidance of a premier, university-trained Egyptologist, you will navigate the sprawling Karnak Temple Complex—a forest of stone that took 1,500 years to build—and walk the illuminated Avenue of Sphinxes at the majestic Luxor Temple.

Your journey then crosses the Nile to the silent, golden valleys of the West Bank. Here, you will descend into the hidden, vibrantly painted sanctuaries of the Valley of the Kings, stand before the avant-garde terraces of the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and gaze upon the towering Colossi of Memnon. With Egypt Fun Tours, every logistical detail is managed with 5-star precision—from luxury private transfers to expert storytelling—ensuring that your encounter with the immortal soul of Upper Egypt is as profound as it is comfortable.

2-Day Luxor Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Fly from Cairo to Luxor and Explore East Bank Attractions

We will pick you up from your Cairo hotel early in the morning in a private AC car to catch your flight to Luxor. Upon arrival at Luxor airport, meet your private tour guide who will accompany you throughout the day.

Visit the Temple of Karnak:

The Karnak Temple is Egypt’s most impressive site and the largest temple complex ever constructed by man. It represents the culmination of many generations of ancient builders and pharaohs. The complex comprises three main temples, several smaller enclosed temples, and outer temples, spread across 247 acres.

Visit the Luxor Temple:

The Luxor Temple is significant for the Opet Festival, which was focused on this temple. Built largely by Amenhotep III and King Ramses II, it served as a venue for festival rituals aimed at reconciling the ruler’s human aspect with the divine office.

Lunch: Enjoy lunch served on an island, which includes a scenic boat ride.

Check-in: After lunch, check into a 5-star hotel to refresh before the next activity.

Evening Activity – Karnak Sound and Light Show:

The show begins with a historical overview of the birth of Thebes and the construction of the Karnak Temple. It narrates the glorious achievements of great Pharaohs, accompanied by a poetic description of the artistic treasures and legacy of the Karnak Temple.

Overnight: Return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 2: Explore West Bank Attractions and Return to Cairo

Enjoy breakfast and check out from your Luxor hotel. Your private tour guide will escort you in a private air-conditioned vehicle to explore Luxor’s west bank attractions.

Visit the Valley of the Kings:

The Valley of the Kings is the final resting place of Egypt’s rulers from the 18th to the 20th dynasties. It contains the tombs of great pharaohs, including Ramses II and the boy pharaoh Tutankhamun. The tombs were well-stocked with goods for the afterlife, and much of the decoration has survived.

Visit the Temple of Hatshepsut:

This temple is one of the most beautiful and well-preserved ancient Egyptian temples, built on three levels with two wide ramps connecting them in the center.

Visit Memnon’s Colossi:

The only remnants of a complete mortuary temple are two massive stone statues of King Amenhotep III. These statues are made from quartzite sandstone blocks that were transported 700 kilometers to Luxor.

Lunch: Enjoy lunch at a restaurant with a beautiful view of the Nile before returning to your hotel.

Departure: After lunch, head back to your hotel for your flight to Cairo.
