Day 1: Cairo Landmarks Tour

A representative will pick you up from the cruise exit door at Alexandria Port. You will then travel to Cairo in an air-conditioned car. Your tour begins there.

Giza Pyramids Complex

The Giza Pyramids complex is a celestial treasure. It holds historical and cultural landmarks from ancient Egypt, dating back over 4000 years. These include:

• The Great Pyramid: King Khufu (2609 BC – 2584 BC) built the magnificent Pyramid of Giza. This enduring artwork illuminates ancient Egyptian religious practices and beliefs. It is the last standing wonder of the ancient world. The pyramid stands about 147 meters high. It contains 2.3 million limestone blocks. Inside, you will find several chambers, including the King’s chamber, the Queen’s chamber, the grand hall, and the huge void.
• The Great Sphinx: Many believe the Cosmic Sphinx is the enduring protector of the Giza Pyramid Complex. This amazing sphinx reveals the tale on the mystical dream Steele of Thutmose IV. It also showcases the great might and intelligence of Pharaoh Khafre (2558 BC–2532 BC).
• The Valley Temple: Workers created the mystical Valley Temple in 2700 BC. This site allowed everyone to participate in the purification and mummification rites of the entire 4th dynasty royal family.

The legendary Egyptian Museum sits in Cairo. Builders constructed it in 1901 AD. It offers a collection of the finest structures and relics, some dating back over 4000 years.

After your tour, you will drive to a five-star hotel in Cairo. You will check in and spend the night there.

Day 2: Alexandria Attractions & Departure

After breakfast, join your Egyptologist Guide for a private tour of Alexandria. You will see several key attractions.

Alexandria Highlights

• The Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa: This renowned site is a unique Roman burial ground. It is one of the seven wonders of the Middle Ages. This family tomb, built in the second century AD, showcases spectacular Egyptian and Roman art and architecture.
• Pompey’s Pillar: This unusual 82-foot (25-meter) granite monolith was built between 298 and 302 AD. It honors Emperor Diocletian. A rumor suggests it may contain General Pompey’s bones at the summit.
• Citadel of Qaitbay: Sultan Al-Ashraf Qa’it Bay constructed this enormous castle in 1477 AD. It sits on the Mediterranean Sea beach, where the famous lighthouse of Alexandria once stood. It is Alexandria’s most distinctive Islamic feature.

You will have lunch at a seafood restaurant. Then, you will complete your excursion with a visit to the next location.

• Alexandria Library (Bibliotheca Alexandrina): This fantastic repository of knowledge opened its doors in 2002. It displays a magnificent collection of rare books, antiques, and objects.

Finally, we will drive you back to Alexandria Port for your final departure.
