Excellent Long layover Tour from Cairo Airport

Discover the amazing wonders of Egypt by exploring Cairo’s top attractions through this Long Layover Tour from Cairo Airport. Indeed, having a long layover in Cairo is a great chance to take in all the iconic sites and tour Cairo like a long vacation! Furthermore, this tour is like two days’ worth of tours condensed into one single day. As a result, at the end of the tour, you shall regret the fact that your layover was not long enough to continue exploring this great city.

We guarantee the best experience during this short time. A Private Egyptologist tour guide is included and will accompany you all the time in Cairo, enhancing your visit with information about modern and ancient Egypt, as well as telling you about life in Egypt and the Egyptian traditions. You will get to taste Egyptian yummy food, as well as drink Egyptian drinks, and even walk like an Egyptian.

First, pick up from Cairo airport and assist with airport formalities. This marks the beginning of a long Cairo layover tour from Cairo International Airport (CAI). Throughout the day, the tour features Giza’s great pyramids, the Egyptian National Museum of Antiquities, the Citadel of Saladin, the Mohamed Ali alabaster mosque, Islamic medieval Cairo, and the Khan El-Khalili tourist bazaar. Finally, we will transfer back to Cairo airport.

Please note: A long layover allows you to visit many places in Cairo; however, you can customize this tour your way and only choose what you want to see, thus spending more time at each attraction.

First Stop: Cheops Great Pyramid

The Great Pyramid of King Cheops is the only still-standing wonder of the ancient wonders of the world. Remarkably, the Pyramid is 4600 years old and made of 3 million blocks of limestone. Next, we will visit the Queen’s Pyramids. These include the 3 smaller Pyramids of Cheops’ Queens, which were built for his daughter and two of his wives.

Moreover, you will probably get inside one of them. As an optional stop, you can also see the Solar Boat of King Cheops.Following that, we will have a Panorama Photo Stop. Here, we will take a moment to enjoy the panoramic view of the three pyramids of the Kings and take great photos with them in the background.

Afterward, we will explore the Great Sphinx & the Mummification Temple. Specifically, the Great Sphinx is a statue that belongs to King Chephren, standing at 22.5 meters high and 72 meters in length. During our visit, we will stop at the mummification temple to learn how the King was mummified.

The Egyptian Museum

Finally, we will conclude our tour at the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities. This museum is noteworthy as the largest of its kind, housing around 120,000 pieces. Opened in 1901, it accommodates the collection of Yoya and Thoya, who were the great-grandparents of King Tut.

In summary, this layover tour offers a rich taste of Cairo’s historical treasures and cultural wonders, ensuring you maximize your time in this incredible city.
