Firstly, we explore the Egyptian Pyramids in Giza: The Giza pyramid complex includes the Great Sphinx, the Valley Temple, six smaller pyramids, and three major pyramids. This complex is a must-see on any luxury vacation to Egypt. It dates back 2400 years to the 4th dynasty.
- The Great Pyramid: This pyramid belonged to “King Khufu.” It is the only one of the three pyramids on the Giza plateau still standing. The Great Pyramid is the oldest and greatest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, standing 146 meters tall. It took 20 years to construct using 2,300,000 stones.
- The Great Sphinx: This magnificent statue, which belonged to “King Chephren,” measures 73 meters long, 19 meters wide, and 20 meters high. The Sphinx is the largest statue in the world and contains the earliest known sculpture.
- The Valley Temple: This ancient Egyptian granite funerary temple is the only one still existing on the Giza plateau. It was used for mummification.
