Detailed itinerary of El Minya Tour from Cairo for 2 Days

Day 1: Drive to El Minya / Visit Tuna El Gabal: Let’s have a morning departure when your personal Egyptologist will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo by a private deluxe air-conditioned vehicle for around 4 hrs drive to El Minya and upon arrival, you will be taken to visit the ancient great plain where Akhenaton got his divine inspiration to establish his city. Then, you’ll enjoy a tasty lunch at a good restaurant, then move to see:

Tuna El Gabal

It’s an ancient archaeological site that was used as the burial tombs of the ancient city of Hermopolis. Tuna El Gabal also served as the worship centre of the god Thoth, the deity of wisdom, and the most renowned tomb you will visit in the cemetery is the tomb of Petosiris, one of the gods Thoth’s loyal priests.

At the end of the day, we will drive you to a 4* hotel to check in and overnight.

Day 2: Visit Beni Hassan & Tel El Amarna – Return to Cairo: Start your day with breakfast, then your tour guide will pick you up by a modern private car to continue your trip to El Minya with:

Beni Hassan Tombs

It’s one of the most impressive burial sites. Date back to the reign of the Middle Kingdom of Egypt, the tombs of Beni Hassan had been used as a resting place for the governors of El Minya during the ruling time of the 11th and 12th dynasties.

Unlike most burial sites in Ancient Egypt, they founded the tombs of Beni Hassan on the east bank of the Nile.

Let’s have lunch at a local restaurant, then head to visit:

Tel Al Amarna

It’s one of the hidden treasures of the Nile Valley that was founded by Pharaoh Akhenaton in 1363 BC as his new capital after he decided to change Egypt’s worship system and unify all the Egyptians’ gods into one god, Aten, the god of the sun.

Finally, we will transfer you back to your hotel in Cairo by your A/C vehicle.

I never knew there was a place on earth that contained both Greek and Egyptian carvings in the same tombs! The history and culture of Egypt is so fascinating! AMAZING TOUR, SOLO TRAVELER.

I am a California woman who traveled to Egypt alone and thanks to Egypt Fun Tours I had a great time. Hani, Mohammed, Kamal and David (my driver) were very professional and very knowledgeable, I appreciate how respectful they were and how protective they were with me.

They show me everything I wanted to see in Cairo and nearby places like Saqqara, Memphis, etc. Thanks to them I had a great time in Egypt, they were so so helpful than on my second day they helped me to move from my hotel in Giza to the Steigenberger hotel in downtown Cairo.

The tour price is super good includes a guide (expert in the field) a driver, lunch and drinks, they took me to amazing places for lunch, the food was super super delicious, for a foodie like me that was a highlight. We went out fo the tourist traps and I got to see the Cairo that if you are in a bus tour you will never get to see.

This tour is personalized for each person depending of what you want to see and do, I absolutely love it.

I used WhatsApp to communicate with Hani and arranged all my tours, Hani was super super nice since the moment I contacted him and explained him what I wanted to do and see.

Hani and his group mesmerized me with the tours they put together, this is a memory I will keep for lifetime.

I had only good things to say about them and I highly recommend them.

I did visit the pyramids in Giza, downtown Cairo, new Cairo, several museums, Coptic Cairo and Muslim Cairo with them and I learned a lot from them, I felt like they were family to me and it was EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT.
