Day 1: Cairo’s Ancient Wonders & Flight to Aswan
Your Egyptian adventure begins early. We’ll arrange your transfer from Soma Bay Resort to Hurghada Airport. From there, you’ll catch a flight to Cairo. Upon arrival in Cairo, your private tour guide will greet you.
Giza Pyramids Complex
Our first stop is the world-renowned Giza Pyramids Complex. This site is often called the oldest natural museum on Earth, with origins dating back more than 4,000 years. Here, you’ll encounter colossal structures: the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Sphinx, and more.
The Great Pyramid
Marvel at the Great Pyramid of King Khufu, a monumental achievement from 2580 BC. It served as his eternal resting place and became one of the legendary Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. This architectural masterpiece stands 147 meters high, constructed from 2.3 million limestone blocks by over 100,000 workers.
The Great Sphinx
Next, behold the Great Sphinx, one of history’s most incredible and ancient statues. Crafted during the Old Kingdom (2686 – 2134 BC), it depicts a creature with a man’s head and a lion’s body. It measures 73 meters long and 19 meters wide.
The Valley Temple
Explore the Valley Temple. Built during the Old Kingdom, this site offers a glimpse into ancient Egyptian mortuary rituals. It’s where the mummification process was performed on the bodies of great kings and queens. You’ll learn fascinating details about these sacred ceremonies.
After your exploration, enjoy lunch at an Egyptian restaurant with views of the Nile or the pyramids. Following lunch, you’ll head back to Cairo Airport. Board your flight to Aswan and check into your 5-star hotel for the night.
Day 2: Abu Simbel’s Grandeur & Overnight in Luxor
Start your morning with a breakfast box. Then, join your private tour guide for an unforgettable journey.
Abu Simbel Temples
No trip to Egypt is complete without visiting the magnificent Abu Simbel Temples. Pharaoh Ramses the Great (1279 – 1213 BC) and his wife Queen Nefertari built these temples around 1200 BC. They house a fascinating “solar miracle,” the Sun Festival, occurring annually on February 22nd and October 22nd. The two temples showcase comprehensive and mesmerizing decorations and artwork, truly making them worthy of exploration.
After returning to Aswan, you’ll have lunch. Then, catch a 1st-class train to Luxor. Check into your 5-star hotel there and spend the night.
Day 3: Luxor’s Rich Heritage & Return to Soma Bay
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel. After checking out, you’ll meet your tour guide to explore Luxor’s iconic sites.
Valley of the Kings
Our first stop in Luxor is the Valley of the Kings. Located within a mountain, this site is a treasure trove of ancient artifacts and artworks from the New Kingdom (1550-1070 BC). Over 60 tombs reside here, though only about 20 are open to the public. These include the tombs of famous figures like Tutankhamun, members of the Ramses dynasty, and Seti I.
Hatshepsut Temple
Next, admire the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (1478-1485 BC). Constructed in 1479 BC, this temple embodies the beauty and grace of ancient Egyptian classical architecture. It is known as the “Holy of Holies.”
Colossi of Memnon
See the Colossi of Memnon, two enormous statues of Amenhotep III (1386-1350 BC). Each stands 18 meters tall. Originally built for his temple in Cairo, which has since faded, these statues were transported 700 km to Luxor.
Enjoy lunch on an island. After your meal, continue your tour of Egypt’s highlights.
Karnak Temple
Visit the colossal Karnak Temple, a testament to the importance of religion in ancient Egyptian life. Construction spanned from 2055 BC until 100 AD. It features 25 temples dedicated to the Theban triad of Mut, Khonsu, and Amun, along with other deities like Ptah, Isis, and Osiris.
Finally, a comfortable air-conditioned car will transfer you to your hotel in Port Ghalib. This concludes your three-day “Egypt Highlights” trip from Soma Bay.
