Tour Itinerary

Detailed itinerary of the 3 Days White Desert and Wadi El Hitan from Cairo.

Cairo, white desert, black desert, Bahariyya, Wadi El-Hitan, Wadi El-Rayan

Day 1: Time: 7:00 am: Cairo-Bahariyya-White desert

An early start to Bahariya Oasis ( 365 K.M) 4 to 5 hours drive. 12:00 Arrive Bahariya Oasis, Bawiti Center of Bahariya.

12:00 to 13:00 Transfer with our Jeep Safari to Al-Haiz.
13:00 to 14:00 Lunch in El-Haiz.
14:00 to 17:00 See the black desert, the crystal mountain, the hot springs, the natural carvings like tents, the malachite valley, and much more.
17:00 Arrive at the white desert to see the sunset in the white desert with the mushroom formations.
17:00 to 19:00 Enjoy the wonderful atmosphere waiting for your dinner to be prepared by the Bedouin guys.
19:00 Barbecue dinner under the stars. You will get to taste the Bedouin tea.
Overnight camp (We prepare for you a big tent, with pillows and mattresses).
We also provide sleeping bags and all other camping equipment!

Day 2: White desert-El-Bawiti-Wadi Hitan

Early wake up for Sunrise. After breakfast in the white desert, then we will take the jeep safari back to Bawiti (8:00 to 9:30).
10:00 to 10:30 take a shower & change clothes in the hotel.
11:30 to 15:30 Drive towards Wadi Hitan through the desert with a stop in Wadi El Sant (Acacia Valley) & Wadi Hian Panorama with a stop on the way to have lunch.
15:30 to 17:30 2 hours for the full 3 Km walk in Wadi Hitan to explore the whales’ fossils which represent one of the iconic stories of evolution.
17:30 to 19:30 Enjoy the atmosphere while the driver prepares the camp & barbecue dinner.
19:30 to 20:30 Dinner. Have you ever tried sleeping on an ocean bed? With Egypt Fun you will do at Hitan on the floor of the ancient Tethys Sea that covered this area many millions of years ago.

Day 3: Time: 6:00 am: Wadi El-Rayyan-Fayoum-Cairo

6:00 wake up.
6:30 to 7:30 Sunrise & breakfast.
7:30 to 8:30 Drive to Wadi El-Rayyan with a stop in Mudawara Mountain (The magnificent spot overlooks the beautiful landscape below where deep blue waters meet the golden yellow sands.
9:00 to 11:00 Visit Wadi El-Rayyan Protected Area where there is so much to see(the two lakes, waterfalls & birds). The most memorable is the spectacular scenery of Wadi El-Rayyan, the contrast between the blue waters of the lakes and the golden desert land.
11:00 to 11:30 Drive to Qaroun Lake (the third biggest lake in Egypt).
12:00 to 13:00 Lunch in a fish restaurant – lake view (optional).
13:00 to 3 pm Transfer Back to Cairo.

Prices: Prices are quoted in US Dollars per person per trip except during Christmas, New Year & Easter holidays.

I never had a more positive experience and educational time than this tours. Learning about a variety of kings and queens was amazing! Tour guide was super nice and helped me and my friend every step of the way! Including bargaining for a few souvenirs!
