1st day: Aswan Highlights and Sail to Kom Ombo
Early in the morning, we will pick you up in a private air-conditioned vehicle from the Aswan Airport, your hotel, or any other preferred location in Aswan. We begin your three-night Dahabiya Nile cruise by touring Aswan’s highlights, which include:
Aswan High Dam: This monumental bridge across the Nile, built between 1960 and 1970, has greatly benefited Egypt’s economy and culture.
The Unfinished Obelisk: This is the largest known antique obelisk. Queen Hatshepsut (1508–1458 BC) may have commissioned it to accompany the Lateran Obelisk, which initially stood at Karnak before workers transported it to the Lateran Palace in Rome.
The Philae Temple: This temple honors Isis, the goddess of love and beauty. To conserve this and other buildings before the Aswan High Dam finished in 1970, the UNESCO Nubia Campaign project disassembled and moved the temple complex to the adjacent island of Agilkia.
After lunch aboard your Dahabiya Nile Cruise Boat, we’ll begin our wonderful sail to Kom Ombo. Enjoy supper upon your arrival in Kom Ombo before going to bed.
2nd day: Explore Kom Ombo Temple, then Sail to Esna
Your tour guide will accompany you to visit:
Kom Ombo Temple: This temple overlooks the Nile and uniquely divides into two separate temples, each with its own entrance, hypostyle hall, and sanctuary. It offers a fascinating historical experience.
Following your visit, we’ll continue sailing to Edfu and you’ll spend the night.
3rd day: Visit Edfu Temple and Sail to Luxor
Enjoy a delectable breakfast on the cruise each morning. Then, join your tour guide to see:
Edfu Temple: This temple honors the god Horus. Many consider the Edfu Temple the most intact Greco-Roman structure in all of Egypt. Its walls depict a “Play” illustrating Horus’ victory over the wicked deity Seth.
We then continue your Dahabiya Nile Cruise from Aswan to Luxor, and you’ll sleep at Esna. Lunch and supper will be served during the trip.
Day 4: Experience Luxor Attractions and Conclude Your Dahabiya Cruise
After breakfast, you’ll disembark from your Dahabiya Nile cruise vessel at Esna. We’ll then guide you to Luxor to see its top tourist sites, including:
The Valley of the Kings: This site contains the tombs of Egypt’s kings from the 18th to the 20th dynasties, including those of the great pharaoh Ramses II and the young pharaoh Tutankhamun.
Temple of Hatshepsut: Visit the magnificent Hatshepsut temple on the west bank of Luxor, one of its type that has been preserved the finest. Hatshepsut, the queen who aspired to reign as king, was a beloved leader of her people but constantly faced controversies.
The Colossi of Memnon: These two enormous stone sculptures of King Amenhotep III are the sole remnants of a complete funerary temple. Workers created the Colossi of Memnon from blocks of quartzite sandstone, which they transported 700 km to Luxor from Cairo.
Enjoy your lunch at a Luxor restaurant with a view of the Nile before continuing your trip by going to:
Karnak Temple: Karnak stands as the most spectacular site in Egypt. It is the biggest temple complex ever constructed by humans and reflects the culmination of many generations of pharaohs and builders in antiquity. The Temple of Karnak spreads over 247 acres of land and comprises three major temples, many smaller enclosed temples, and several peripheral temples.
After your Dahabiya Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor concludes, we’ll take you to the airport or train station in Luxor.
