Day 1: Visit Luxor East Bank Attractions
Upon arrival in Luxor, meet your private tour guide to begin your Luxury Nile Cruise holiday in Egypt. Together, you will discover ancient Egyptian civilization at the most famous archaeological sites along the Riverbank in Luxor East Bank, such as:
Temple of Karnak
To begin your luxury experience in Egypt, no site impresses more than the Karnak Temple. It stands as the largest temple complex ever built by man and represents the culmination of many generations of ancient pharaohs’ efforts. The Temple of Karnak comprises three main temples, several smaller enclosed temples, and several outer temples spread across 247 acres of land. Afterward, proceed to MS/Farah Nile Cruise to check in, enjoy your delicious lunch, and relax. In the evening, we will pick you up to enjoy a spectacular night at:
The Luxor Temple
The Luxor Temple served as the focal point of the most important festival, the Opet Festival. Largely built by Amenhotep III and Rameses II, the temple provided a venue for festival rituals. The festival aimed to reconcile the ruler’s human aspect with the divine office. At the end of the day, return to the cruise and spend the night on board.
Day 2: Explore Luxor West Bank’s Top Attractions
Continue your luxury Nile River cruise with a visit to some of the most magnificent historical landmarks on Luxor’s West Bank, including:
The Valley of Kings
This is the final resting place of Egypt’s rulers from the 18th to the 20th dynasties, and it contains tombs of the great Pharaoh Ramses II and the boy Tutankhamun. The pharaohs well-stocked the tombs with all the material goods that a ruler might require in the afterlife. The majority of the decoration inside the tombs has survived.
Temple of Hatshepsut
This temple stands as one of the most beautiful and well-preserved temples in Ancient Egypt. Its builders constructed the temple on three levels, with two wide ramps connecting them in the center.
Memnon’s Colossi
Only two massive stone statues of King Amenhotep III remain from a complete mortuary temple. The statues’ creators made them from blocks of quartzite sandstone found in Cairo and transported them 700 kilometers to Luxor. Sail to Esna and Edfu, then spend the night in Edfu.
Day 3: Visit Edfu and Kom Ombo Temples
After breakfast, go exploring:
Temple of Edfu
Edfu Temple is Egypt’s best-preserved Greco-Roman temple, and its walls depict a play showing Horus’ victory over the devil god Seth. After your tour of the Edfu Temple, you will return to your Nile cruise and sail towards:
Temple of Kom Ombo
The Nile is visible from the Kom Ombo Temple. This temple’s builders divided it into two temples, each with two entrances, two hypostyle halls, and two sanctuaries.
After a day of luxury and discovery, you will continue sailing to the Nubian city of Aswan, where you will spend the night under a starry sky above the enchanting Nile.
Day 4: Take in Aswan’s Flawless Perfection
In the morning, enjoy your breakfast before departing on your 5-day luxury Nile Cruise to discover the magic and charm of the Nubian city of Aswan and some of the world’s most beautiful attractions such as:
High Dam of Aswan
Engineers built the Aswan High Dam across the Nile between 1960 and 1970, and it has had a significant impact on Egypt’s economy and culture.
The Unfinished Obelisk
This is the world’s largest ancient obelisk. Hatshepsut (1508-1458 BC) commissioned it, possibly to complement the Lateran Obelisk (which was originally at Karnak and later moved to the Lateran Palace in Rome).
Temple of Philae
Philae Temple is dedicated to the goddess of love and beauty, Isis. As part of the UNESCO Nubia Campaign project, workers dismantled the temple complex and relocated it to nearby Agilkia Island, protecting it and other complexes prior to the completion of the Aswan High Dam in 1970.
Overnight on the cruise ship.
