Days 1-4: The Giza Necropolis and Architectural Evolution

• Day 1 (Arrival & Giza View): Arrive in Cairo. Meet your guide. Check into your five-star hotel with a Pyramid view. Evening lecture by your Egyptologist on the historical context of the 4th Dynasty.
• Day 2 (Giza Plateau Immersion): Full-day, in-depth Pyramids Archaeological Tour of the Giza Plateau. We focus on Khufu’s Boat, the Sphinx enclosure, and the often-missed areas around the funerary temples.
• Day 3 (Dahshur & Engineering): Travel south to Dahshur. Study the architectural missteps and successes by examining the Bent and Red Pyramids. This provides critical insight into the evolution of pyramid construction leading up to Giza.
• Day 4 (Saqqara Necropolis): Explore Saqqara, the world’s largest ancient necropolis. Study the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the Imhotep Museum, and the mastaba tombs of the Old Kingdom nobles.

Days 5-7: Texts, Artifacts, and Study

• Day 5 (GEM Masterclass): Dedicated, intensive study day at the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM). Your Egyptologist will guide your focus beyond the celebrity artifacts to the collections vital for Old Kingdom research.
• Day 6 (Papyrus & Royal City): Visit the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC). Afternoon workshop or specialized visit focused on the decipherment of hieroglyphics and the study of ancient papyri (textual evidence).
• Day 7 (Departure): Final morning for reflection or a local market visit. Transfer to Cairo International Airport for your final departure after completing your Pyramids Archaeological Tour.
