The Karnak Temples complex, which was constructed and expanded over 1700 years from the Middle Kingdom (2000-1700 BCE) through the Ptolemaic Kingdom (305-30 BCE), is the biggest open-air museum in the world. Amun, Khunso, and Mut, the Theban trinity, intended for the structure to serve as their sacred hub.
