The 9-Day Egypt Tour Itinerary

1st day: Arrival in Egypt—Hotel Check-In

Upon arrival at Cairo Airport, staff from “Egypt Fun Tours” will assist you with passport control and baggage handling. You will then be driven to your 5-star hotel in a luxury air-conditioned vehicle. In the evening, enjoy a dinner cruise on the Nile, featuring a captivating belly dance show and the traditional Tannoura dance. After the cruise, return to your hotel for the night.


2nd day: Visit the Pyramids

After breakfast, start your Cairo & Sharm El Sheikh trip with a visit to the magnificent Pyramids of Giza Complex, one of the most iconic archaeological sites in the world:

  • The Great Pyramid of Giza: The oldest and last intact wonder of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, standing at 147 m (481 ft) tall. Built around 2580 BC, it remains a testament to ancient engineering.
  • The Great Sphinx: The largest and oldest statue in the world, featuring the body of a lion and the head of a man, believed to represent King Khafre. It stands 73 m (240 ft) tall and is a source of many mysteries.
  • The Valley Temple: A well-preserved structure used during the mummification process, made of red limestone and granite, showcasing stunning sculptures of King Khafre.

Lunch at a traditional Cairo restaurant, then, we continue to:

  • Saqqara Step Pyramid: Built around 2700 BC and designed by Imhotep, this six-step pyramid is 62 m tall and marks the beginning of pyramid construction in Egypt.
  • City of Memphis: The first capital of Egypt, established by King Menes, serving as a center for government, commerce, and religion, and home to the temple of Ptah.

Afterward, return to your Cairo hotel for the night.


3rd day: Visit Old Cairo Landmarks

After breakfast, continue your journey in Cairo, known as “The City of Minarets,” with your tour guide:

  • The Egyptian Museum: One of the largest museums in the world, housing over 150,000 artifacts, including treasures from King Tutankhamun and numerous mummies, showcasing 4,000 years of ancient Egyptian civilization.
  • Lunch: Enjoy a meal at a local Cairo restaurant.
  • Salah El-Din Citadel: A historic fortress built in 1182 AD by Salah El-Din. It served as a defensive stronghold and the seat of government for over 700 years.
  • Mohamed Ali Mosque: Known as the Alabaster Mosque, built between 1830 and 1848 AD, featuring stunning Ottoman architecture and a prominent dome.
  • National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC): Showcasing Egypt’s rich history and culture through a vast collection of artifacts.
  • Khan El Khalili Bazaar: The oldest and busiest market in the Middle East, dating back to 970 AD, offering a vibrant atmosphere and traditional crafts.

Return to your hotel for the night.


Day 4: Highlights of the Tour to Alexandria

After breakfast, travel to Alexandria with your guide to explore the top attractions:

  • Kom El Shoqafa Catacombs: An archaeological site blending Hellenistic, Roman, and ancient Egyptian design, built as a necropolis in the 2nd century AD.
  • Pompey’s Pillar: The largest monolithic column outside of Rome, standing 28 meters tall, originally thought to contain the bones of Pompey.
  • Citadel of Qaitbay: Founded in 1477, on the site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria, featuring stunning Islamic architecture.
  • Lunch: Dine at a seafood restaurant.
  • Alexandria Library: A modern tribute to the ancient library, housing a vast collection of books in Arabic, English, and French, along with impressive art galleries.

Return to Cairo for the night.


5th day: Fly from Cairo to Sharm El Sheikh

After breakfast and check-out, head to Cairo Airport for your flight to Sharm El Sheikh. Check into your 5-star hotel upon arrival.
