Luxor & Abu Simbel: The 2-Day Private Tour

The mystical secrets of ancient Egyptian culture will be revealed on a tour from Port Ghalib to Luxor and Abu Simbel over two special days by your tour guide, who will take you to the one and only Karnak temple complex, the gate of the Heavens Valley of the Kings, the stunning Hatshepsut temple, and the magnificent Abu Simbel temple down the southern Egyptian border. Visit the riches of ancient history by going back in time.

Day 1: Travel from Port Ghalib to Luxor and Discover Luxor’s Wonders

You will be picked up from your accommodation in Port Ghalib in an air-conditioned car. Then, you will drive to Luxor to kick off your two-day trip to Luxor and Abu Simbel with your private tour guide. Your first stop will be:

The Valley of the Kings

Hidden within the core of a mountain lies a secret realm filled with 63 tombs of Egypt’s greatest rulers from the New Kingdom (1570-1070 BC). This includes 20 royal tombs rich with golden treasures and stunning wall art. Notable pharaohs like Tutankhamun and the entire Ramses Dynasty are among those buried here.

Temple of Hatshepsut

Next, you will visit the magnificent Hatshepsut Temple, Egypt’s most well-preserved archaeological site. Constructed in 1479 BC, this temple is the pinnacle of ancient Egyptian architecture, commemorating Egypt’s long history and identity.

Memnon’s Colossi

As you explore, you will encounter the ancient Colossi of Memnon. These colossal statues, built during the reign of Amenhotep III (1386-1350 BC), stand as a tribute to the pharaoh himself. They have captivated the hearts and minds of all who see them at the Luxor gateway. Afterward, lunch will be served at a restaurant with a view of the Nile River. Following lunch, you will continue your journey to:

Karnak Temple

Next, discover the Karnak Temple, one of the largest archaeological constructions ever built. Spanning 247 acres, this complex was developed from 2055 BC to 100 AD. Over the centuries, builders dedicated numerous shrines and temples to various gods, including the Theban triad of Khnsou, Amun, and Mut, as well as Isis and Osiris.

At the end of your Luxor tour, we will take you to the railway station to board the first-class train to Aswan. Afterward, you will check into your hotel in Aswan for the night.

Day 2: Visit the Temples of Abu Simbel

In the morning, you will receive breakfast boxes. Then, accompany your tour guide on a journey to Abu Simbel, where you will view one of history’s most amazing artifacts:

Temples of Abu Simbel

Your visit will culminate with the breathtaking Abu Simbel Temple, built between 1264 BC and 1244 BC to honor various deities and the beloved Queen Nefertari. Every year, the magnificent sun festival on February 22nd and October 22nd keeps the temple alive in people’s memories.

Upon your return to Aswan, you will enjoy lunch before boarding the train back to Luxor. Finally, you will drive back to your accommodation in Port Ghalib, bringing your two-day exploration of Luxor and Abu Simbel to a memorable close.
