Khedival Cairo Tour: Opera House, downtown, and Cairo Tower

A wonderful Cairo downtown tour from your hotel. We will explore and experience the Khedival Cairo area and downtown. It was built by Khedive Ismael, the grandson of Mohamed Ali. Notably, this lovely section of Cairo was crafted by European architects. Khedive Ismail commissioned them to construct a European-looking region in honor of the inauguration of the Suez Canal in 1869.

Furthermore, the Cairo Opera House is one of the highlights of this tour. It allows you to appreciate the beauty of the building. Additionally, we see the Cairo Tower and the majestic Nile River. Moreover, walking downtown is also a fascinating experience, as it allows you to observe young Egyptians shopping for clothes, leather shoes and bags, and branded electronics.

About Cairo Downtown

This Cairo downtown tour is unique. Moreover, Khedival Cairo, also known as Downtown Cairo or Wust al-Balad, is a district in Cairo, Egypt, located between historic Medieval Cairo and the Nile. Officially, the name of the area is Khedival Cairo, for its rich architectural heritage from Khedive Ismail’s era, featuring designs by French architects.

Today, Khedival Cairo is a protected area extending south to Sayida Zeinab, with many buildings recognized as protected. Consequently, this area is a popular tourist destination due to its historical and cultural significance

Tour Itinerary

To begin, we pick you up from your hotel and start our tour to see the opera house complex and Cairo Tower area. After that, we then proceed to the Egyptian Museum, where you’ll enjoy a guided tour featuring more than 120,000 pieces from ancient Egypt, including the renowned collection of King Tut.

Afterward, enjoy free time downtown, where you can see Midan El-Tahrir, Sharia Qasr El-Nil, Sharia Talaat Harb, Egyptian cinemas, and numerous shops selling clothes, leather bags, and shoes.

Finally, we will transfer back to your hotel or the pickup point to conclude your tour.
