Afterward, next on this tour is the Cairo Citadel. Salah El Din built it in 1182 AD on the highest point in Egypt. This grand fortress serves not only as a defense but also as a container for the heart and soul of Cairo. Besides, it is a perennial and dignified symbol of the city’s hardy character and taste for arts and aesthetics, beautifully portrayed in various charming mosques and museums within its precincts.

Egyptian Lunch

After this thrilling tour, we will go to a sumptuous lunch at a restaurant in Cairo, where we enjoy authentic Egyptian fare to one’s heart’s content.

Afterward, we will visit the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, which opened in 2017 in Fustat. This modern museum showcases Egypt’s timeline in the most advanced way, highlighting the country’s rich heritage. Most notably, it was designed and built in collaboration between UNESCO and the Government of Egypt on 490,000 sq m, allowing for a housing capacity of up to 50,000 artifacts and approximately 20 royal mummies, which should make the venue a must-visit for history buffs.

Khan El Khalili Market

The day concludes with a visit to the Khan El Khalili market, which is one of the liveliest and was built between 1382 and 1389 AD during the Golden Islamic era. It was here that skilled artisans and traders joined hands in building the Middle East’s most superior shopping center, which was packed full of special souvenirs and handicrafts.
