Afterward, next on this tour is the Cairo Citadel. Salah El Din built it in 1182 AD on the highest point in Egypt. Afterward, we will visit the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, which opened in 2017 in Fustat. This modern museum showcases Egypt’s timeline in the most advanced way, highlighting the country’s rich heritage. Most notably, it was designed and built in collaboration between UNESCO and the Government of Egypt on 490,000 sq m, allowing for a housing capacity of up to 50,000 artifacts and approximately 20 royal mummies, which should make the venue a must-visit for history buffs.
The day concludes with a visit to the Khan El Khalili market, which is one of the liveliest and was built between 1382 and 1389 AD during the Golden Islamic era.
