Return to your accommodation in El Gouna after that. Do it now!

Day 1: Cairo’s Ancient Wonders

Your 2-day Cairo & Alexandria tour begins with a pick-up from your El Gouna hotel for a flight to Cairo. Upon arrival, your Egyptologist guide will meet you to start your exploration.

Giza Pyramids Complex

Step back in time at the Giza Pyramids Complex. This incredible site, dating back to the 4th dynasty (around 2400 B.C.), features three main pyramids, six smaller ones, the iconic Great Sphinx, and the Valley Temple.

The Great Pyramid

Marvel at the Great Pyramid, the oldest and largest of the Giza pyramids, and the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still standing largely intact. It’s an impressive 147 meters tall and was built using 2.3 million stones over twenty years.

The Great Sphinx

See the magnificent Great Sphinx, the largest known monumental sculpture in the world. It stands 73 meters long, 19 meters wide, and 20 meters high.

The Valley Temple

Visit the Valley Temple, a granite mortuary temple used by ancient Egyptians for mummification. It’s the only one remaining on the Giza plateau.

Enjoy lunch at a restaurant offering stunning Pyramid or Nile views. Afterward, we’ll continue our tour.

The Egyptian Museum

Explore the Egyptian Museum, home to a rare collection of over 250,000 genuine artifacts spanning 5,000 years of art. Don’t miss the remarkable exhibit dedicated to King Tutankhamun’s treasures, including gold and jewelry enclosed in his tomb for over 3,500 years.

You’ll then check into a 5-star hotel in Cairo for your overnight stay.

Day 2: Alexandria’s Historical Gems

After breakfast and checking out from your hotel, embark on a fascinating private tour to Alexandria with your Egyptologist guide.

Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa

Descend underground to explore the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, a Roman burial site. Its family tomb beautifully blends Egyptian and Roman art and architecture. You’ll also visit Caracalla Hall.

Back above ground, continue your tour of Alexandria.

Pompey’s Pillar

See Pompey’s Pillar, an impressive 25-meter (82-foot) granite column. It was built to honor Emperor Diocletian for his role in freeing the besieged city and providing food to its starving inhabitants.

Qaitbay Citadel

Visit Qaitbay Citadel, a 15th-century fortress built in 1477 AD by Sultan Al-Ashraf Qa’it Bay. This historic stronghold stands on the very site of the ancient Pharos Island.

Enjoy lunch at a seafood restaurant. Your tour concludes with a visit to:

Alexandria Library (Bibliotheca Alexandrina)

Explore the modern Alexandria Library, a significant literary site that houses a copy of every book published in the world. The library also features various exhibitions on Egyptian history and a display of rare antique books.
