Magical Aswan and Abu Simbel journey from Marsa Alam

Discover the timeless wonders of ancient Egypt on this 2-day trip to Aswan and Abu Simbel from Marsa Alam. During this journey, you will enjoy a private tour that departs from Marsa Alam and takes you to the city’s most notable attractions, including the High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk, and the Philae Temple. Moreover, your tour will include an overnight stay for added comfort. On the following day, you will visit the “Two Temples” of Abu Simbel before driving back to Aswan and continuing to Marsa Alam.

Day 1: Aswan Attractions Tour

Starting your Aswan & Abu Simbel tours from Marsa Alam in the morning, a modern private A.C. car will pick you up from your accommodation and drive you to Aswan. Upon arrival, you will join your Egyptologist tour guide for an exploration of Ancient Egyptian Civilization in Aswan, which will include visits to the following tourist attractions:

High Dam of Aswan

Between 1960 and 1970, the Egyptian government, in association with the Soviet Union, built the High Dam in Aswan to control the flood of the Nile River, arrange the irrigation processes, and develop agriculture.

The Unfinished Obelisk

The old world’s largest obelisk. Hatshepsut (1508-1458 BC) commissioned it to accompany the Lateran Obelisk (which was initially located at Karnak and later moved to the Lateran Palace in Rome).

Temple of Philae

Dedicated to the goddess Isis of Love and Beauty. As part of the UNESCO Nubia Campaign initiative, the temple complex was deconstructed and transported to neighboring Agilkia Island, safeguarding it and other monuments before the Aswan High Dam was completed in 1970.

After that, you’ll have a fantastic lunch before checking into a 5* hotel in Aswan.

Day 2: Visit Abu Simbel and return to Marsa Alam

Get your breakfast box from your accommodation early in the morning, then accompany your private tour guide for a visit to Abu Simbel.

Temples of Abu Simbel

The two temples are among the most important marvels of ancient Egypt because of their unique style. They are a reflection of Egypt’s new Kingdom’s glory and magnificence. Abu Simbel is home to two huge rock temples. The twin temples were cut out of the mountainside during King Ramses II’s reign in the 13th century BC as a permanent memorial to himself and his Queen Nefertari for their victory at the Battle of Kadesh.

Then return to Aswan for lunch before transferring by car to Marsa Alam to conclude your Aswan and Abu Simbel tours.
