Tour Itinerary
Detailed itinerary of the 6 Days tours of Alexandria, Wadi El-Hitan, and Cairo.
Day 1: Cairo Arrival
Meet at Cairo airport upon arrival with an Egypt Fun Tours representative who will assist you through airport customs & formalities. You will be escorted immediately to your hotel by Egypt Fun AC modern vehicle. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 2: Pyramids, Sphinx, Saqqara, and Memphis
Breakfast at the hotel, then we start exploring ancient attractions with a visit to the famous Pyramids. The Great Pyramid of Cheops which was built to be the grave of the King, is the largest of all the Egyptian Pyramids and is the only survivor of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Pyramid of Chephren, which is the best-preserved, and the Pyramid of Mycarinus.
Nearby see the Sphinx, a marvelous statue carved out of a natural rocky outcrop, the lion’s body stretching 57m, with its paws 15m long. We will (optional) visit the Papyrus Institute and learn how the paper was made in ancient times followed by shopping in the Papyrus Museum, Perfume factory, and Jewelry shop (optional). overnight.
Day 3: El-Fayoum Oasis & Wadi El-Hitan Desert Adventure
After breakfast at the hotel, pick you up and start our oases adventure to El-Fayoum oasis. We arrive at lake Qarun to enjoy the morning and the fresh breath of the lake. Continue our trip to Tunis village to see Egyptian craftswomen creating beautiful pottery.
We then continued our trip to Wadi El-Hitan exploring the two museums it has to offer, the climate change museum and the open-air museum of whale fossils, these whale fossils are 40 to 200 million years old. Egyptian local yummy lunch at Wadi El-Hitan. After lunch, we proceed to Mudawara Mountain to see the beautiful scenery of the lakes surrounded by mountains.
Continue our trip to Wadi El-Rayan to see the waterfalls and enjoy the sunset over the lake. Transfer back to Cairo to the hotel and overnight.
Day 4: Cairo – Alexandria Day Trip
After breakfast at the hotel, pick you up and start our trip to Alexandria (approx. 3 hours drive). Arrive at Alexandria and start our sightseeing tour to the Catacombs of Kom El-Dhokafa to see the three stories of graves that are carved under the ground.
Continue our tour to the Pillar of Pompey which is the tallest pillar from ancient Egypt meant to lead ships into the port. We then proceed to the Roman amphitheater. Lunch in a seafood restaurant. After lunch we continue our tours to Faros Island to see the location of the ancient lighthouse and get an outside view of Qaytbay fortress, also get so close to the water of the Mediterranean.
Continue our tours to the mosque of Abul-Abaas and then see the Alexandria library from the outside and stop by for photos. Transfer back to Cairo to your hotel and overnight.
Day 5: Cairo Sightseeing Tours
Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, we pick you up and start our Cairo sightseeing tours to explore the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities. The Egyptian Museum was established by the Egyptian government in 1855. The present museum building was opened in 1901, in the new classical style by the French architect Marcel Dourgnon.
The museum exhibited collections that now exceed 120,000 objects ranging from the prehistoric era to the Greco-Roman period. It has 107 halls, and the ground floor houses huge statues. The upper floor houses small statues, jewels, Tutankhamun treasures, and mummies.
The museum also comprises a photography section and a large library. A hall for the Royal Mummies was opened at the museum, housing mummies of kings and queens. Your reward for the day will be a complimentary visit to Khan El Khalili bazaar which is one of the most famous worldwide with its amazing narrow alleyways.
The visitor can discover small restaurants and workaday cafes where Egyptians & non-Egyptians come to smoke water pipes and enjoy some of the traditional Egyptian drinks in the cafes scattered around the area. Transfer back to the hotel &
Day 6: Final departure
Breakfast in the hotel, check out, and transfer to Cairo International Airport for your final departure
