Day 1: Cairo Exploration
Your adventure begins early in the morning. We will pick you up from your hotel in Soma Bay and drive you to Hurghada Airport. From there, you’ll catch your flight to Cairo. Upon arrival, your tour guide will greet you, marking the start of your two-day journey to Cairo and Luxor.
Giza Pyramids Complex
First, you’ll explore the Giza Pyramids Complex. This colossal site, dating back to 2600 BC, holds wonders that have survived millennia. See the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the enigmatic Sphinx, and the Valley Temple. You’ll also discover the two great pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure, along with other hidden treasures.
The Great Pyramid
A primary highlight in Cairo is the Great Pyramid of Giza. Builders constructed it as King Khufu’s final resting place. This unique, colossal structure consists of 2.3 million limestone blocks, each weighing 2.5 tons. Standing at 147 meters since 2580 BC, it remains the only intact wonder of the ancient world.
The Great Sphinx
Next, marvel at the Great Sphinx, the oldest statue ever created. Carved during Khafre’s reign, this magnificent statue, also known as “Horus of the Horizon,” features a man’s head and a lion’s body. It stands 73 meters tall and 19 meters wide, showcasing the everlasting artistic skill of ancient Egyptians.
The Valley Temple
You’ll also visit the Valley Temple, one of the Old Kingdom’s most significant monuments (2686–2134 BC). This temple served as the center of mummification, preserving the spirits of ancient Egyptians for the afterlife.
After your pyramid adventure, you’ll enjoy lunch at a beautiful Egyptian restaurant overlooking both the pyramids and the Nile.
The Egyptian Museum
After lunch, we will take you to The Egyptian Museum. This one-of-a-kind museum houses the planet’s largest collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts. It boasts up to 150,000 artifacts spanning 4500 years, crafted from various materials like stone and gold. Each piece tells its own story. One of the most visited treasures includes the artifacts of Tutankhamun. Inside the museum, you’ll also find the immortal Mummy Room, holding the bodies of Seti I, Tutankhamun, and others.
Finally, in the evening, you will head to Cairo Airport and catch your flight to Luxor. Our employee will meet you there and transfer you to your 5-star hotel for the night.
Day 2: Luxor Exploration
Your second day begins with breakfast at your hotel. Afterward, your tour guide will accompany you in an air-conditioned car. You will continue your two-day tour from Cairo and Luxor with a visit to the following sites:
Valley of the Kings
First, explore the Valley of the Kings, the world’s greatest natural museum. Nestled within the heart of a mountain, it holds 63 tombs. These tombs contain treasures from the New Kingdom (1550-1070 BC) belonging to famous rulers such as the Ramses dynasty, Tutankhamen, Seti I, and Hatshepsut.
Hatshepsut Temple
Next, embark on an exploration of the stunning Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (1479-1458 BC). Builders constructed this temple in 1479 BC to honor Amun and Queen Hatshepsut’s long legacy of achievements. It stands as a magnificent example of classical ancient Egyptian architecture and the grandeur of the New Kingdom.
Colossi of Memnon
Then, behold the Colossi of Memnon, two enormous statues of Amenhotep III (1386-1350 BC). Made from quartzite and standing 18 meters tall, they once graced Amenhotep III’s temple in Cairo. They were then transported 700 km to Luxor. You will enjoy lunch on an island after a boat ride.
Karnak Temple
Finally, you will visit the Great Karnak Temple Complex, one of the most revered places on Earth. It holds over 4000 years of the entire kingdom’s religious history. The complex contains about 25 temples filled with colossal statues, chapels, and shrines, all dedicated to various gods and goddesses.
After a full day of exploration, we will transfer you back to your hotel in Soma Bay in an air-conditioned car, concluding your private two-day tour to Cairo and Luxor.
