Day 1: Discover the Egyptian Pyramids

Egypt Fun Tours’ representative will meet you at Alexandria Port and escort you through your 2-day trip to Cairo from Alexandria Port. After a drive of approximately 3 hours in an air-conditioned vehicle, you will join your private tour to visit:

Giza Pyramids Complex: This grand museum of extraordinary treasures rose to prominence around 2700 B.C., showcasing some of the greatest archaeological wonders ever built. Here, you will explore:

• The Great Pyramid: Built in 2570 BC, this legendary structure was the tallest building for over 3800 years and is made up of 2.3 million limestone blocks.
• The Great Sphinx: Carved from a single block of limestone during Pharaoh Khafre’s reign, this iconic guardian reflects his face and has a lion’s body.
• The Valley Temple: Constructed in 2600 BC, this mortuary temple prepared royal members for the afterlife through mummification.

After enjoying lunch at a local restaurant, you will continue your private tour with a visit to:

The Saqqara Step Pyramid: This remarkable structure, built in the 27th century B.C. by Pharaoh Djoser, is the earliest large-scale cut-stone construction and marks the beginning of the golden era of pyramid building.

Finally, you will transfer to a 5-star hotel in Cairo for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Explore Old Cairo Landmarks

After breakfast, check out and join your private tour guide to explore Cairo’s highlights, starting with:

• The Egyptian Museum: Established in 1901 AD, this museum showcases the immortal treasures of ancient Egyptian civilization.

Following lunch at a local restaurant, you will visit:

• Salah El Din Citadel: Constructed between 1176 and 1182 AD, this citadel served as Egypt’s seat of government until the 1860s and houses several museums and mosques.
• The Alabaster Mosque: Built between 1830 and 1848 AD, this mosque is a stunning example of Ottoman architecture, encased in pure alabaster from the Pyramids of Giza.
• The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization: This museum features over 50,000 artifacts, including 28 royal mummies, showcasing the advanced artistry of ancient Egyptians.
• Al Muizz Street: A cultural hub established in 953–975 AD, this street is known for its ancient cafes and stunning examples of Islamic architecture.
