El Muez street

El-Muez Street is the main street of the old Islamic medieval city. There is so much to see on this street, and probably one full day is not enough to take in all the attractions; however, in this half-day tour, we will show you the most important and beautiful sites and also see the outside view of each attraction in the street and get info about the history of each.

Tour Itinerary

Pick you up from your hotel and start our trip to Islamic Al-Qahira to explore the following places:

Zwaila Gate

It is one of the three gates that are still standing. The old fortified Cairo had 7 gates of which 4 are gone, and only 3 are remaining.

Al-Moaiad Shaikh Mosque

A beautiful giant Mosque from the 9th century. We will probably climb the stairs and see the view of the old city from the roof.

El-Ghori Complex

Islamic Complex of Sultan El-Ghori. The complex consists of a big Mosque, A school for teaching Quran, & a Wekala “Shopping mall). This stop is from the outside view.

Khan El-Khalili Tourist Market

The market is the oldest tourist market on the planet, it used to be a market for selling grains, and it was switched into a tourist market at the time of the treasure hunters. This stop is to see the old medieval buildings around the market, however, it is also a not-recommended shopping opportunity.

Lunch in a local Egyptian restaurant

Qalawoon Complex

Another Islamic Complex. We will get inside the complex of Qalawoon which is one of the most beautiful sites on El-Muez Street.

Al-Hakim Mosque

Giant Mosque from the Fatimid time. We will probably get inside if the mosque is open for visitors.

Bab El-Foutouh

Another gate of the old fortified city.
