Wonderful Tour of Gayer Anderson Museum

After breakfast at your hotel, pick you up and start our tour of Islamic medieval Cairo. Tour Ibn Tulun Mosque, & Gayer Anderson Museum. Egyptian Lunch. After lunch, continue our guided tour to Islamic medieval Cairo to see the fortified gates of the old city, the northern old wall, the old mosques, & walk-in El-Muez street.

Proceed to the Khan El-Khalili tourist bazaar for a quick shopping tour if interested. Continue our walking tour to El-Ghoriya and visit Al-Moaiad Shaikh mosque and see the Zwailia gate of the old town, continue walking to Al-Khayamia (tentmakers) and enjoy a well-worth cup of Egyptian tea at a local coffee shop. We then walk back toward the northern wall and take our private air-conditioned car and go back to the hotel.

First stop: Time: 8:00 am: Ibn Tulun Mosque & Gayer Anderson Museum

Ibn Tulun is the third oldest mosque in Egypt, it is also the biggest in size. Gayer Anderson was the private physician of King Farouk, his house (which belongs to the government) was switched into a museum.

Second Stop: Time: 1:00 pm: Islamic Medieval Cairo

Big tick off our bucket list!

Booked the evening before and were able to do everything we hoped to in a day, with a knowledgeable guide & at a reasonable price! Lunch was included and absolutely delicious! Learnt about the history of Egypt which was the most important part of sightseeing Cairo/Giza. Hamada also gave us recommendations for the rest of our Egypt trip. HIGHLY recommend! Thanks Hamada 🙂

I never had a more positive experience and educational time than this tours. Learning about a variety of kings and queens was amazing! Tour guide was super nice and helped me and my friend every step of the way! Including bargaining for a few souvenirs! I will never forget this experience and the generosity of Egypts people and our guide! He is amazing and I highly recommend him for your tour guide!!
