Tour Itinerary

Detailed itinerary of the 11-Day Standard Tour of Historical Egypt

Day One: Begin your 11-day standard tour of Egypt

Arrive in the cradle of ancient civilization and take advantage of our meet and assist service provided by our “Egypt Fun Tours” representative at Cairo International Airport to complete all of your official procedures in the most efficient and timely manner possible before being transported to one of Cairo’s best 5* hotels to check-in and relax. In the evening, join your private tour guide for a fantastic open buffet dinner cruise and a magical Nile experience with the greatest local whirling dervishes and belly dance displays. You will be driven back to your hotel by your tour guide.

Day 2: Visit the Pyramids of Giza and Dahshur

After breakfast, your own Egyptologist will take you in a contemporary A/C car to see some of Egypt’s most well-known historical landmarks, including:

Giza Pyramids Complex: The Pyramids of Giza are the world’s most majestic and iconic monumental structures, built primarily to commemorate the magnificent monarchs of the 4th dynasty. The three pyramids of the Giza Complex are a realm of fantasy since they house thousands of valuable items in burial chambers for the pharaoh and his family.

The Great Pyramid of Giza: Because of its immense height, it is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It is the site’s oldest and biggest pyramid, dedicated to King Cheops. The Pyramid of Cheops has a mummification temple as well as burial tombs for King Khufu and his wife.

The Great Sphinx of Giza: The Great Sphinx is a terrifying figure of a lion with a human head that most mythology claim is a representation of Pharaoh Chephren. This massive sculpture, which is 73 meters long and 20 meters tall, was unveiled as the protector of the Giza Plateau.

The Valley Temple: The Valley Temple, which is part of the Giza Pyramids Complex, is a large structure that was initially used as a funerary temple for Pharaoh Chephren. The Valley Temple offers tangible evidence of the fourth dynasty’s importance in Egyptian culture.

Have lunch at a fantastic restaurant, then go to see:

The Dahshur Pyramids: Dahshur is a royal complex on the west bank of the Nile River that is famous for its pyramids. Two of these, however, are Egypt’s best-preserved monuments. The Bent Pyramid is a 101-meter-high structure composed of local limestone. The Red Pyramid, which is considered the first perfect and complete pyramid in history, is dedicated to Pharaoh Snefru.

You will spend the night in Cairo at your hotel.

Day 3: Visit the Luxor East Bank

After breakfast at the hotel, take a direct flight to Luxor to see the city’s most famous historical sites, including Luxor East Bank Highlights:

Karnak Temple: It’s one of the best-preserved religious structures in Ancient Egypt, and it’s held a particular place throughout history. Pharaoh Ramses III built the Karnak Temple primarily to commemorate the old deity Amun, the universe’s ruler.

Enjoy your lunch at a sumptuous restaurant before being transported to a 5* hotel to check in and relax before being led to visit:

Luxor Temple by Night: Luxor Temple is a massive temple complex dating back to about 1400 BCE. The site is enclosed by mud-brick walls and is composed of sandstone stones from Nubia. The first pylon, which stands at the entrance to the Luxor temple, was erected and embellished by Ramses II to commemorate his military achievements, particularly in the Battle of Kadesh.

We will return you to your hotel where you will spend the night.

Day 4: Visit Luxor on the West Bank

In the morning, you’ll meet up with your tour guide to begin your Luxor day tours by viewing the greatest top sights on the West Bank:

The Kings’ Valley: This is where you’ll find the beautifully painted cemeteries of the New Kingdom’s kings, royal family members, and nobility. UNESCO designated the Valley of the Kings as a World Heritage Site. The tombs of Ramses I, II, III, Hatshepsut, and Tutankhamun were among the more than 60 royal tombs uncovered at the site.

Temple of Hatshepsut: The Hatshepsut temple, built on the orders of the Great Hatshepsut, is the best example of historical architecture. The temple was built of limestone, unlike most other New Kingdom funeral temples, and is found at the foot of the cliffs near Deir El Bahari.

Lunch will be provided at a fine Nile view restaurant, followed by a visit to see:

Memnon’s Colossi: The Colossi of Memnon are two famous statues of Amenhotep III that were built in the Theban Necropolis along the Nile River’s west bank about 1350 BC. El Gabal El Ahmar quartzite sandstone was used to craft these twin statues.

You will spend the night in Luxor, Egypt, at your hotel.

Day 5: Visit the Temples of Dendara and Abydos

The specialty of this 11-day tour package is that it allows enough time to experience two of the most beautiful temples of ancient Egypt at Dendara and Abydos.

After a delicious breakfast, you will be transported in a private air-conditioned car by your experienced Egyptologist to visit:

Dendera Temple: Dendera Temple, near Qena, about 60 kilometers north of Luxor, is one of the finest intact temples, covering around 40,000 square meters. Dendara Complex is the primary point of old chapels and shrines, and it’s fascinating to realize that it’s encircled by a mud-brick encased wall.

Temple of Abydos: The Abydos Temple is one of the holiest sites in Egyptian history. The Predynastic Period’s Abydos Temple functioned as a pilgrimage center for the worship of the deity “Osiris.” The Temple of Seti I, which was begun approximately 1300 BC and finished by Ramses II, is the most important structure on the site.

Return to Luxor to check into a 5-star luxury Nile cruise for lunch and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Keep on with Luxor’s Best Highlights

Prepare to be escorted by a private air-conditioned VIP car following your breakfast meal to tour some of Luxor’s holiest attractions, including:

The Queens’ Valley: It’s one of the world’s most beautiful burial grounds, designated for the New Kingdom’s queens, royal princes, and princesses. The New Kingdom pharaohs built the valley of the queens, which was called “Ta-Set-Nefru,” which means “The Place of Beauty.”

Temple of Habu: It’s a massive ancient Egyptian structure that houses the ancient Egyptians’ most illustrious relics. The construction of the complex began during the reign of the 18th dynasty and was finished during the Roman era. The Mortuary Temple of Ramses III and the Cult of Amun are the most well-known attractions at the site.

Deir El-Medina: It is the home of the artisans and artists who planned, built, and decorated the royal private burial tombs of Egypt’s kings and queens. When it was discovered, the location astonished the whole globe.

Return aboard your 5-star Nile cruise to begin sailing and stay the night.

Day 7: Set sail to see the temples of Edfu and Kom Ombo.

Breakfast will be served on the boat, after which you will board a horse carriage with your knowledgeable tour guide to visit:

Edfu Temple: Edfu Temple, which goes back to the Ptolemaic period, is one of Egypt’s most fascinating historical landmarks. The construction of the temple began in 237 BC during the reign of Ptolemy III and was finished in 57 BC under the reign of Ptolemy IV. The Edfu temple has an entrance, a chapel, and the Mamisi, which is the abode of Horus’ holy birth.

You’ll return to your Nile cruise for a great lunch on board as you sail to Kom Ombo, where you’ll be met by a luxury A/C car and brought to see:

Temple of Kom Ombo: The Kom Ombo temple is a one-of-a-kind structure with a double design and two symmetrical temples; the southern temple was dedicated to the crocodile deity Sobek, while the northern temple was dedicated to the falcon god Horus.

Continue sailing to Aswan while staying on board for the night.

Day 8: Visit the Abu Simbel Temples

You will begin your day excursion early in the morning with breakfast boxes and a three-hour journey with your tour guide in a private A/C car to visit:

Temples of Abu Simbel: The construction of such a magnificent Abu Simbel temple fulfilled a number of goals. The main temple in the area is dedicated to King Ramses and was built to commemorate his victory in the Battle of Kadesh. It was also used to worship the gods Ra-Harokaty and Ptah at the same time. The goddess Hathor and Queen Nefertari are honored at the smaller temple. We’ll take you back to your 5-star luxury Nile cruise for the night.

This day is one of the special days of this 11-day tour

Day 9: Visit Aswan’s Top Attractions

After breakfast, you will go on a guided day tour to Aswan’s splendors in a private A/C car, which will include:

The Nubian Village: The Nubian village is the ideal place to see the rarest example of simplicity and civilization’s birthplace, where you may learn about new customs, cultures, and architecture while being in close touch with the actual residents and thousands of years of history.

Kitchener Island: It’s one of the top Aswan sights when visiting the Aswan Botanical Gardens. To get to Kitchener Island, tourists may take a felucca or a speedboat to the Nile’s east bank. Lord Kitchener utilized this island as the headquarters for his army during his operations in Sudan, and so did the name.

Elephantine Island: It’s located along the Nile River’s west bank hillside, downstream from the Nile’s first cataract. Elephantine Island is a perfect depiction of Aswan’s splendor. Swenet, a highly significant commercial hub in ancient times, was located on the island.

Enjoy an Egyptian lunch at a Nile view restaurant, then be transferred to the airport to catch a flight back to Cairo, where you will check into a 5* hotel for the night.

Day ten: Take in the Best of Cairo’s Old Town

After breakfast, you will be escorted to the key sites in Old Cairo, including:

The Egyptian Museum: The Egyptian Museum is a large collection of valuable antiquities that has hundreds of divine artifacts and heirlooms. The Egyptian Museum’s most stunning exhibit, however, is King Tutankhamun’s spectacular collection.

Lunch will be served at a local Cairo restaurant, followed by a visit to:

The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization: The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) is able to clearly display all of Egypt’s hidden 3-and intangible treasures, providing visitors from all over the globe with the wonderful sight of the most beautiful items dating back over 4000 years of diversified history and culture.

Al Muizz Street: Throughout the Fatimid caliphate, Al Muizz Thoroughfare remained important as the major street, displaying some of Egypt’s most remarkable Fatimid, Ayyubid, and Ottoman ruins.

Mosque of Al Aqmar: It is one of the most beautiful and oldest buildings in Islamic Cairo, as well as one of Egypt’s most prominent Fatimid ruins. The Al Aqmar Mosque has an unusual architectural style in that it has an offset façade, which is built to face the main street directly while the remainder of the mosque is angled.

Mosque of Al-Hakim: It was built between 990 and 1013 AD and is the second-largest mosque in Old Islamic Cairo. The mosque is noted for its unusual construction, which demonstrates the evolution of Islamic architecture at the period by having large pillars on both sides of the main entrance with some embellished corners and arches.

Bayt Al Suhaymi: Bayt Al Suhaymi, located in Al Darb Al Asfar, is one of the oldest and most exquisite mansions built in the 17th century. The structure is still considered one of Cairo’s greatest specimens of Medieval architecture.

Gayer Anderson Museum: John Gayer-Anderson, a British commander, left behind this fascinating memorial. The structure is lavishly decorated with Mashrabiyya screens and marble inlays, as well as a chamber adorned with gold borrowed from a 17th-century mansion in Damascus.

Bazaar of Khan El Khalili: The Khan El Khalili Bazaar is a fantastic place to visit if you’re looking for a large variety of fabric stores and marketplaces. The location has a big exposition of food, commodities, oil, and perfume.

We’ll return you to your accommodation via car.

Day 11: Departure and End of Your 11-Day Tour Package

Check out, and we’ll take you to Cairo International Airport to catch your flight home, bringing your Egypt vacation package to a close.

What People Say About Us
5/5

Thank you Egypt Fun Tours for a most memorable trip. I admit I didn’t do any of the planning (it was all done by my boyfriend) but as you can read in the reviews below Hani (the owner of Egypt Fun Tours) is superbly organized and accommodating with scheduling.

My boyfriend and I, and our dearest mutual friend, booked the 7Days-6Nights tour. In short time, we visited Cairo, Aswan, and Luxor sailing down the down the Nile, pit stopping to see key sites at these location – and so much more!!! We got to know the ancient and modern egypt in depth thanks to Hani’s impressive knowledge. He also enlightened us on the people and their beliefs and went as far as showing us what a typical life looks like. I cannot express the level of personalized service Hani offered us. He was flexible to adapt to our requirements and added sites to our schedule that was not part of the tour simply to ensure we were 100% satisfied with our experience in Egypt.

I went to Egypt practically blind-folded, not knowing what to expect, especially considering the time we had decided to go (December 2020 – we were the first group that Hani met with after months of having to put his tour agency on hold considering the pandemic) yet he managed to surpass all of our expectations. I felt so incredibly lucky for us to have stumbled on Hani. I would recommend Egypt Fun Tours to anyone and everyone. It was truly, HANDS DOWN, the best cultural experience I’ve ever had. You’ll be in the best of hands.

Hamada was incredible! So knowledgeable and kind. He had information about every item, street corner, and relic we looked at. Any questions we had, he had answers! He even made sure to give us tips while walking through the crowds so that’s we would feel more comfortable when being approached by vendors. Oh and the food?! He took us to the best places! Delicious food!! We tried Egyptian fried chicken, falafel for the first time, the best shawarma in the city (we love food). We even got to meet his beautiful wife and children and try some “French” Egyptian coffee in their home! Truly made friends for life!! We’ve promised to host him and the family when they travel to America for the first time! Such an incredible experience, and Hamada (and family) made it that much more memorable and amazing!

Excellent trip to historic sites with no one else around. We came to see Egypt while most places still had COVID19 fears. The staff at Egypt Fun Tours were professional, safe, and great to deal with. Very helpful, knowledgeable, and entertaining. I feel like I just got a a year of Egyptology in the last week and we had all the sites to ourselves due to COVID19. While people are shutting down and staying home you should feel safe to come explore with Egypt Fun Tours and have the place to yourself.
