12-Day Standard Tour Package Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Egypt
Your journey begins with your arrival in Cairo. A representative will assist you with passport control, luggage identification, and portage. Then, you will be driven to your hotel in a private A/C car for check-in.
In the evening, we will pick you up for a dinner cruise. Sit back and relax as you enjoy a colorful belly dancing show and the unforgettable Tannoura spin, following Egypt’s whirling dervishes tradition. Afterward, you will be transferred back to your hotel for the night.
Day 2: Visit the Pyramids, Saqqara, and Memphis
After breakfast, meet your private Egyptologist tour guide. Your 12-day Egypt tour begins at the Giza Pyramids.
Giza Pyramids Complex
Explore three main pyramids, six smaller pyramids, the Great Sphinx, and the Valley Temple, all dating from 2400 B.C., built by the 4th dynasty.
The Great Pyramid of Giza
The Great Pyramid, or King Khufu’s Pyramid, is the oldest and largest of the three. It stands 147 meters tall and took twenty years to construct with 2,300,000 stones.
The Great Sphinx
This statue, measuring 73 meters long, is the world’s largest and oldest monumental sculpture.
The Valley Temple
This granite funerary temple was used by Ancient Egyptians for mummification and is the only one remaining on the Giza plateau. Enjoy lunch at a restaurant with a view of the Pyramids or the Nile, then visit:
Dating back to King Djoser’s reign in the 27th century B.C., this pyramid is the earliest large-scale cut-stone building, rising 62 meters high.
Memphis City
Founded by King Menes as Egypt’s first capital, Memphis was strategically located between Upper and Lower Egypt and was protected by the god Ptah. Finally, return to your hotel for the evening.
Day 3: Sightseeing Tour of Cairo
After breakfast, meet your tour guide to visit Cairo’s top sites:
The Egyptian Museum
This museum houses a unique collection of nearly 250,000 ancient Egyptian artifacts, including treasures from King Tutankhamun. Enjoy lunch at a local Cairo restaurant before visiting:
Citadel of Salah El Din
This majestic fortification served as Egypt’s government center until the 1860s and was built under Salah ad-Din.
Mohamed Ali Mosque
Constructed between 1830 and 1848, it is known as “The Alabaster Mosque” due to its alabaster walls and resembles Istanbul’s Blue Mosque.
The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization
This museum connects predynastic Egypt to modern times and showcases Egypt’s rich art and history.
Bazaar of Khan El Khalili
No visit to Cairo is complete without exploring this historic bazaar, built around 970 AD. At the end of the day, we will transfer you back to your Cairo hotel for the night.
Day 4: Fly to Aswan and Explore
Enjoy breakfast, then check out of your hotel. We will drive you to Cairo airport for your flight to Aswan. Upon arrival, meet your tour guide to explore Aswan’s attractions:
The High Dam
Built between 1960 and 1970, this dam has greatly impacted Egypt’s economy and culture.
The Unfinished Obelisk
Commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut, this is Ancient Egypt’s largest obelisk.
Temple of Philae
Dedicated to the goddess Isis, this temple complex was moved to Agilkia Island to protect it from the Aswan High Dam. At the end of the day, you will transfer to a 5-star deluxe Nile cruise for lunch and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Tour of Abu Simbel
Start your day with breakfast boxes. Then, accompany your private tour guide to the Temples of Abu Simbel. These rock-cut temples were created during King Ramses II’s reign in 1200 B.C. One temple honors Ramses II, and the other honors Queen Nefertari. Both feature magnificent sculptures and artwork. Return to your cruise for lunch, then begin sailing and spend the night on board.
Day 6: Visit the Edfu and Kom Ombo Temples
After breakfast, embark on a guided tour:
Temple of Kom Ombo
This temple offers stunning views of the Nile and features two sanctuaries.
Edfu Temple
Dedicated to Horus, this is Egypt’s best-preserved Greco-Roman temple. Its walls depict Horus’ victory over the wicked god Seth. Have lunch on board and then sail to Luxor, arriving late at night for an overnight stay.
Day 7: Visit Luxor’s East Bank Attractions / Fly to Hurghada
After breakfast, disembark and check out from the Nile cruise at 8:00 a.m. Next, continue your journey with your personalized tour guide to explore Luxor’s attractions:
Karnak Temple
Karnak is the most impressive Egyptian landmark. It is the world’s largest temple complex, showcasing the work of many generations of ancient builders and Pharaohs. Spanning 247 acres, Karnak consists of three main temples, smaller walled temples, and additional peripheral temples.
The Kings’ Valley
Here, you will find the tombs of Egypt’s monarchs from the 18th to 20th dynasties, including the famous Ramses II and Tutankhamun. These tombs were stocked with everything a king might need in the afterlife. Most interior decorations remain well preserved.
This temple is one of the most magnificent and well preserved. It features three levels and two large ramps that connect the floors at the center.
Memnon’s Colossi
These two enormous stone statues represent King Amenhotep III. They are crafted from quartzite sandstone blocks and transported 700 kilometers from Cairo. During the tour, enjoy lunch at a Nile-view restaurant. Afterward, you will be transported to Hurghada. Check into a 5-star hotel for the night.
Day 8: Hurghada Expedition for Snorkeling
Take advantage of Hurghada’s warm weather. Go snorkeling in the Red Sea to marvel at vibrant colors, unique shapes, and stunning patterns while observing fish, coral, and plants.
Day 9: Hurghada Safari Trip
Embark on a guided safari tour in Hurghada for an incredible adventure. Cross majestic dunes on a quad bike. Discover a traditional Bedouin village and learn about their lives and customs. Ride a camel and witness a breathtaking sunset while enjoying a barbecue dinner, mineral water, and soft drinks. Afterward, enjoy stargazing on your return from the Bedouin village to your Hurghada hotel.
Day 10: Free Day in Hurghada
Enjoy a full day to yourself. Explore Hurghada and relax. You will spend another night in Hurghada.
Day 11: Hurghada to Cairo
After breakfast, enjoy your afternoon before transferring to Hurghada airport for your flight to Cairo. Upon arrival, you will be met and transported to a 5-star hotel for your overnight stay.
Day 12: Final Day of Your 12-Day Tour
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Then, you will be transported to the airport for your journey home, concluding your 12-day Egypt tour.
