Best 2 Days Cairo & Alexandria Tour from Soma Bay

Explore the wonders of ancient and modern Egypt through this amazing Cairo and Alexandria from Soma Bay for 2 Days Tours. During a 2-day Cairo & Alexandria journey from Soma Bay, you will get the chance to enter the gates of two historic cities and discover the most amazing collection of monuments ever created in history over 4500 years of growth and improvement. You may visit the vast Giza pyramid complex, the catacombs, the Qaitbay palace, and many other ancient places when you book this amazing two-day trip to Cairo and Alexandria from Soma Bay.

Day 1: Fly to Cairo – Visit the Pyramids & the Museum

Your tour begins with a hotel pick-up in Soma Bay. An employee will transfer you to Hurghada Airport. You’ll fly to Cairo. There, your Egyptologist guide will meet you. Start exploring Cairo’s epic attractions immediately.

Giza Pyramids Complex

Discover the most complete ancient Egyptian art and architecture. The complex lies at the heart of Cairo. It dates back to 2600 BC. Here stand the three great pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure. You’ll also see the incredible Sphinx.

The Great Pyramid

King Khufu’s Great Pyramid sits in Giza. Built in 2580 BC, it served as his immortal resting place. It stands 147 meters tall. Its advanced interior design earned it a place among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It remains fully intact today.

The Great Sphinx

The legendary Sphinx stands before Khafre’s second great pyramid. It depicts Pharaoh Khafre (2558-2532 BC) as a sitting lion. Its sole purpose was to protect this ancient civilization’s heritage.

The Valley Temple

Imagine a great temple from the Old Kingdom (2686–2134 BC). It aimed to cheat time and achieve immortality. This is the Valley Temple. Here, priests performed the mummification process on ancient kings’ and queens’ corpses.

Enjoy lunch at a restaurant offering pyramid and Nile views. Then, you head to:

The Egyptian Museum

The Egyptian Museum in Cairo showcases ancient Egyptian civilization’s immortal beauty. It houses over 150,000 artifacts spanning 4000 years. See mummies of kings and queens. Discover items made from limestone, granite, and precious stones. Entire treasures of Tutankhamen, rich in gold, await.

Finally, check into your 5-star hotel in Cairo for the overnight stay.

Day 2: Visit Alexandria Attractions – Fly Back to Soma Bay

Enjoy breakfast. Then, check out from your hotel. Continue your tour in Alexandria with your guide.

Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa

Visit one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages: the Catacombs. This necropolis offers a rare example of Greco-Roman architecture. It uniquely blends ancient Egyptian and Hellenistic artistic elements. Artifacts date to the 2nd century AD.

Pompey’s Pillar

Pompey’s Pillar is the largest monolith column outside Rome. It stands 28 meters high. Made of red granite, it is 2.7 meters wide. Many believe General Pompey’s remains lie at its top, giving it its name.

Qaitbay Citadel

Discover Alexandria’s only ancient Islamic construction: Qaitbay Citadel. Builders constructed it in 1477 BC. It stands on the site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria. They used salvaged rocks from the lighthouse for its construction. It features amazing Islamic decorations.

Lunch will be served at a seafood restaurant. Your tour then concludes with a visit to:

Alexandria Library

This is one of Egypt’s most famous landmarks. It commemorates the ancient Library of Alexandria. It holds a collection of rare books in Arabic, French, and English. You’ll also find several stunning art galleries and exhibits. Finally, your tour concludes. You’ll transfer to Cairo Airport. Then, fly back to Hurghada.
