It stands at a height of 147 m (481 ft) which made it the tallest building in the world for 3800 years until the construction of the Lincoln Cathedral in England in 1311.

The Great Sphinx: Also known as Abu Al-Hawl which means The Father of Terror in Arabic, it’s the oldest statue in history, it has the shape of a mythical creature called the Sphinx which has the body of a lion and the head of a man probably King Khafre as a symbol of power and wisdom. It served as a source of inspiration to countless travelers, poets, and travelers even today as a lot of mysteries and unanswered questions still surround the sphinx. It has a height of 73 m (240 ft) and 19 m (66 ft) and was carved out of single limestone rock.

The Valley Temple: It is the home of the Mummification process that started in the old kingdom (2686 2134 BC). It is one of the best-preserved structures of the ancient Egyptian civilization, made entirely from limestone, and granite, and holds amazing diorite statues of Chephren.

Pompey’s Pillar: The largest monoliths column ever built outside of Rome, it stands at 28 m tall and 2.7 m wide of pure red granite, and on its western upper side is a Greek inscription dedicated to Emperor Diocletian. It was constructed in 1477 by Sultan Al-Ashraf Sayf Al-Din Qa’itbay on top of the legendary lighthouse of Alexandria the third longest surviving wonder in the ancient world until its destruction by earthquakes between 956 AD and 1323 AD using the stones salvaged from the lighthouse. Wonderful tour with the guide Hamada. I did not feel rushed at all, he explained a lot of facts about the city, the mosque , the water storage room, and also brought me to no hassle shops. He picked a great place to eat and have Turkish coffee and a cold lemon mint drink. We took a took took when we got tired from walking. He also happens to be a great photographer and helped take beautiful pictures. Overall a wonderful tour and great experience.
