6-Day Historical Egypt Tour Package Itinerary

1st day: Arrival in Egypt, Land of Pharaohs

Upon arrival at Cairo airport, an “Egypt Fun Tours” representative will assist you with passport control and luggage. You’ll be transferred to your 5-star hotel for check-in. In the evening, enjoy a dinner cruise on the Nile, featuring a vibrant belly dancing show and the mesmerizing Tannoura spinning performance. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

2nd day: Giza Pyramids & The Egyptian Museum

After breakfast and check-out, your private tour begins at the Giza Pyramids Complex, one of the oldest structures on Earth, boasting:

  • The Great Pyramid of Khufu: The last remaining Wonder of the Ancient World, built over 4,500 years ago.
  • The Great Sphinx: A mysterious statue with the body of a lion and the head of King Khafre.
  • The Valley Temple: A well-preserved site related to the mummification process.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, then visit The Egyptian Museum, home to over 150,000 artifacts, including treasures of King Tutankhamun. Finally, fly to Luxor and check into your 5-star hotel for the night.

3rd day: Luxor Attractions Tour

After breakfast, explore Luxor’s highlights with your Egyptologist guide:

  • Valley of the Kings: This burial site contains 63 tombs of pharaohs, including the famous King Tutankhamun.
  • Queen Hatshepsut Temple: A stunning temple dedicated to one of ancient Egypt’s most successful rulers.
  • Colossi of Memnon: Two massive statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, known for the sounds attributed to them during ancient times.

Enjoy lunch on an island with a boat trip on the Nile, then visit Karnak Temple, one of the largest religious complexes in the world, dedicated primarily to the god Amun. Overnight at your hotel.

4th day: Transfer to Aswan by Train – Tour of Aswan Landmarks

After breakfast and check-out from your Luxor hotel, board a first-class train to Aswan. Upon arrival, meet your private Egyptologist guide to explore Aswan’s attractions:

  • The High Dam: Constructed between 1960 and 1970, this dam controls flooding, generates hydroelectric power, and stores water for irrigation.
  • The Unfinished Obelisk: Commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut, this massive obelisk remains incomplete due to a crack that occurred during its construction.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, then visit:

  • Philae Temple: Dedicated to the myth of Osiris, this temple was relocated to Agilkia Island as part of a UNESCO rescue mission after the construction of the Aswan High Dam.

Check into your 5-star hotel in Aswan for an overnight stay.

5th day: Tour to the Two Temples of Abu Simbel

Check out from your hotel in the morning and enjoy breakfast boxes during your transfer to Abu Simbel with your private guide.

  • Abu Simbel Temples: Built by King Ramses II, these temples are monumental in size and significance, reflecting greatness and glory. The larger temple is dedicated to Ramses II, while the smaller temple honors his wife, Queen Nefertari. Each February and October, the sun illuminates the statues inside the larger temple during a special festival. These temples were also relocated as part of a UNESCO rescue operation.

After your visit, return to Aswan for lunch, then catch your flight back to Cairo. Transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Solid Tour Company

Last year (2010) my wife and I did a 20 day trip in Egypt, mostly Do-It-Yourself. However, one of the first things we did was a trip to Bahariya oasis and to the White Desert — not so easy to do yourself, so we needed an agency. After e-mail back-and-forths
