Tour Itinerary

Detailed itinerary of the 8-Day Tour of Cairo, Nile Cruise, and the Red Sea

Day 1: Entry into Egypt, the Land of the Pharaohs (Begin your 8-day tour adventure): Our “Egypt Fun Tours ” representative will be waiting for you at your arrival gate at Cairo International Airport when you arrive. He will assist you with all passport check procedures as well as baggage identification and carrying. After that, you’ll take a private air-conditioned car to your 5-star hotel reservation to check-in. In the evening, your tour will start with an incredible dinner cruise on the legendary Nile, where you can unwind and take in a vibrant belly dancing performance with a folklore band that includes a hypnotic Tannoura spin in keeping with Egypt’s whirling dervishes’ tradition. You’ll go back to your hotel for the night at the conclusion of the day.

Day 2: Visit the Egyptian Museum and the Pyramids: Early in the morning, after enjoying your breakfast and checking out of the hotel, you will join your private tour guide for a journey to some of the most incredible historical places on earth, including:

Egyptian Pyramids in Giza: Since its construction more than 4,000 years ago, the Giza pyramid complex has been anticipating your arrival. The majestic Sphinx, the house of an immortality valley temple, six smaller pyramids, and three great pyramids make up the Giza complex.

The Great Pyramid: The Great Pyramid of Khufu, the final surviving example of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, was built in 2580 BC over the course of 20 years utilizing 2,300,000 chunks of 2.5-ton limestone and 100,000 unpaid skilled laborers. For 3800 years, the great pyramid was the highest structure in the world thanks to its height of 147 meters (481 feet). Due to its intricate interior contrasted with its enormous size, the great pyramid continues to be a source of tremendous capacity to turn attention.

The Great Sphinx: As its origin and age are shrouded in considerable mystery, the Great Sphinx has maintained its stand for endless years, serving as a source of inspiration for many artists and poets from all over the globe. It resembles the fabled monster known as the sphinx, which has a lion’s body and a man’s head—likely that of King Khafre—to symbolize strength and intelligence. The Sphinx was carved out of single limestone rock in under three years with the help of roughly 100 free skilled laborers, reaching heights of 73 m (240 ft) and 20 m (66 ft).

The Valley Temple: Mummification was used to obtain immortality at the Valley Temple, which was built during the Old Kingdom of Egypt (2686 2134 BC). It is one of the best-preserved archaeological sites and a wealth of knowledge about ancient Egyptian mummification may be found there. The valley has exquisite diorite sculptures of King Khafre and is totally composed of limestone and granite. Lunch will be provided at the Nile View restaurant in the Pyramids before you go to:

The Egyptian Museum: The Egyptian Museum showcases the alluring beauty of ancient Egypt. It has the greatest collection of priceless monuments and antiquities from ancient Egypt in the world, stretching back more than 4500 years. More than 120,000 artifacts, including statues, funerary items, and supplies like King Tutankhamun’s treasures, the Narmer palette, Papyrus, several on-display mummies, and countless others, are housed inside the two-story building. These artifacts are made of expensive materials like gold and gemstones as well as more common ones like wood or stone.

Once in Aswan, you will check into your 5-star luxury Nile cruise, where you will spend the night. You will then depart for Cairo airport to catch your flight.

Day 3: Aswan Nile Cruise – See Aswan Attractions: Day three begins at Aswan as you have breakfast while on the ship and go sightseeing with your Egyptologist tour guide, beginning by:

The High Dam: The High Dam, which was built between 1960 and 1970, is the sole contemporary attraction in Aswan. To better regulate Nile flooding, produce hydroelectricity, and offer more water storage for agriculture in its reservoir Lake Nasser, the dam was constructed in collaboration with the Moscow-based Hydro Project Institute.

The Unfinished Obelisk: Queen Hatshepsut (1508–1458 BC) gave the order for the Unfinished Obelisk to be erected at the entrance to the Karnak temple. It was referred to as “Tekhenu,” which means “to pierce the sky,” and it is very significant since it was able to demonstrate the creation of obelisks. It was 42 meters tall and weighed 1200 tonnes. The obelisk was sadly fractured during construction and has continued to stand in the same spot till now.

Temple of Philae: In the “Myth of Osiris,” in which the husband of Isis, “Osiris,” is killed by His brother Set, the god of the desert of chaos, out of pure hatred and envy, and then Osiris is resurrected to be the ruler of the underworld afterward, is depicted on the walls of Philae Temple, which is the jewel of Aswan and the origin of ancient Egyptian mythology. The period of peace, wealth, and justice begins with the defeat of Set by Hours, the sky god and son of Isis and Osiris. Following the building of the Aswan High Dam, the temple was moved in the 1960s to the island of Agilkia as part of a rescue operation coordinated by UNESCO.

Your nights will be spent on board.

Day 4: Visit the Kom Ombo and Edfu Temples: After savoring your breakfast, you’ll go to:

Temple of Kom Ombo: The Greco-Roman era, between 205 BC and 180 BC, saw the construction of the Kom Ombo Temple, also known as “The Hill of Gold.” The temple has a singular double design that is separated into two identical sections, one for the falcon sky deity Horus and the other for the crocodile god Sobek.

You will continue to cruise till you get at:

Temple in Edfu: One of the last temples ever constructed in Ancient Egypt, Edfu Temple served as the official temple of the sky falcon deity Horus from 237 BC until 57 BC. According to the Osiris Myth, it is said to have been constructed on the same site as the conflict between the demon god Set and Horus. The Edfu Temple’s architecture and interior are stunning because they expertly blend Greek and Egyptian styles, as was discovered during excavations by French Egyptologist Auguste Mariette in 1860.

You will keep sailing until you get to Luxor, where you will spend the night on board after arriving at night.

Day 5: View the Attractions in Luxor: Check out after breakfast, and your tour guide and a private air-conditioned car will accompany you as you see some of the main Luxor tourist sites, including:

The Kings’ Valley: The greatest kings and queens of the New Kingdom of Egypt were buried in the Valley of the Kings, which is a staircase leading to heaven (1570-1070 BC). It has 63 tombs that are each loaded with enchanted jewels, artifacts, sculptures, mesmerizing decorations, and the bones of pharaohs like Amenhotep I, Hatshepsut, Ramses (I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, IX, X), and the well-known boy-king Tutankhamun. Due to its historical importance and timeless beauty, the Valley has designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1979.

Temple of Hatshepsut: The Hatshepsut Temple, also known as Djoser-Djeseru (Holy of Holies), is the epitome of elegance and beauty. It displays the majesty of the new kingdom and the vision of Queen Hatshepsut, one of the most successful and powerful monarchs in the annals of Ancient Egypt. The architecture of the temple is based on the idea of Classical Architecture as it has three levels with two broad ramps in the center connecting the floors, and it houses some of the most spectacular sculptures, treasures, and monuments in all of Luxor. It was constructed in 1479 BC and took 15 years to complete.

Enjoy a delicious lunch at a top-notch restaurant in Luxor before joining your tour guide to see:

Memnon’s Colossi: The Colossi of Memnon are two enormous slabs of quartzite sandstone that are shaped like Pharaoh Amenhotep III and rise at a height of 18 meters (60 feet) (1386-1350). A significant earthquake in 27 BC wrecked the colossi, but they were rebuilt anew in 199 AD. The Vocal Memnon, which was caused by the statues sometimes singing in the morning and was nothing more than the sound of the wind blowing through the statue, made the sculptures immensely renowned throughout the Greco-Roman era.

Temple of Karnak: One of the holiest locations on earth and one of the biggest religious man-made structures is the Karnak Temple. It was also referred to as Pr-Imn House of Amon and Ipet-isu The Most Selected Of Places. It was the center of religious worship for the entire ancient Egyptian kingdom for more than 1500 years, during which time it was dedicated primarily to the Theban triad, which included God Amun, his wife, the Goddess of Justice Mut, and his son, the Moon God Khnsou, in addition to other gods like the Great Osiris, Montu, Ptah, and Isis. It has a history of more than 4000 years. For many centuries, the Karnak complex was able to preserve the way of life and history.

Lastly, you will continue your 8-day trip to Cairo, the Nile Cruise, and Hurghada by being transferred in a private air-conditioned car to a 5-star hotel in Hurghada for the night.

Day 6: Hurghada safari excursions: On day six, you will be at Hurghada Red Sea, where you will have breakfast, go on a fantastic amazing Safari tour by quad, and then have a delectable B.B.Q dinner before going back to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 7: Red Sea Snorkeling Adventure: On the seventh day, you’ll have breakfast and check out of your Hurghada hotel before joining your private driving instructor to start your breathtakingly exciting activities like snorkeling and diving. Then, you’ll go to the airport to board your overnight flight to Cairo.

Day trip to Wadi el Hitan and Wadi el Rayan

July 9, 2024

We went on a full day trip to Wadi el Hitan and Wadi el Rayan with Mohamed (Hamada). Mohamed was a wonderful guide, always making sure we had plenty of water and enough to eat, and providing us with information about the area and Egypt more generally. He also gave us plenty of time to explore by ourselves. We would highly recommend Egypt Fun Tours and Mohamed.
