Days 1-2: Cairo

Days 3-5: Luxor and the Valley of the Kings

Next, take a morning flight to Luxor. This was once the ancient capital of Egypt. Spend three days exploring the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens. Many pharaohs and queens were buried here. You can also visit the Karnak and Luxor Temples. Stroll through the Luxor Museum. Finally, wander through the city’s busy markets. Luxor is full of ancient sites and modern attractions. Three days will give you enough time to see it all.

Days 6-8: Aswan and Abu Simbel

From Luxor, take a leisurely Nile River cruise south to Aswan. Here, you can explore ancient temples and tombs. Aswan was once a vital trading center. It is also home to the Philae Temple and the massive High Dam. This dam provides electricity for much of Egypt. From Aswan, take a day trip to the magnificent temples of Abu Simbel. This UNESCO World Heritage site features incredible ancient Egyptian architecture.

Days 9-11: Alexandria

First, return to Cairo. Then, travel to Alexandria. Take a stroll through the beautiful Montazah Palace and its gardens. They overlook the Mediterranean Sea. Marvel at the stunning catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa. You can also visit the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, a modern library with a rich history. Alexandria is a city of contrasts. Three days here will give you a unique view of Egypt’s past and present.

Days 12-15: Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh

Finally, end your journey on the Red Sea. You can choose between two modern resorts.
