The Great Pyramid of Giza

Builders constructed it in 20 years using 2,300,000 blocks of limestone. Standing at a height of 147 meters (481 feet), it held the title of the world’s tallest building for 3,800 years.

Day 2: Take a Tour of Alexandria’s Most Famous Landmarks
In the morning, enjoy breakfast and check out from the hotel. Afterward, you will travel to Alexandria, the pearl of the Mediterranean Sea. Upon arrival, you will see some of Alexandria’s most popular tourist sites, starting with:
Citadel of Qaitbay
Sultan Al-Ashraf Sayf Al-Din Qait Bay built the Qaitbay Citadel in 1477 at the location of the legendary Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Utilizing stones salvaged from the damaged lighthouse, the citadel showcases a remarkable fusion of grandeur and exquisite Islamic architectural styles.
Kom El Shoqafa’s Catacombs
Afterward, you will explore the Catacombs, resembling an ancient subterranean mansion. Constructed as a necropolis in the 2nd century AD, the Catacombs beautifully blend Hellenistic and Roman aesthetics with ancient Egyptian Pharaonic civilization.
Between its three levels, you will find a variety of Greek and Roman antiques and decor, earning it the title of one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages. Afterward, you will enjoy a delicious lunch at a local Alexandria restaurant. Then, proceed to:

Pompey’s Pillar symbolizes the might and glory of ancient Greek civilization. As the largest monolithic column built outside of Rome, it stands 28 meters tall and 2.7 meters wide.
