The Egyptian Museum

The Egyptian Museum was founded in 1901 by Khedive Abbas Helmy II in downtown Cairo. It is one of the oldest archaeological museums in the Middle East. The museum has two levels and houses many fascinating objects dating from the Predynastic Period to the Graeco-Roman Era (5500 BC–364 AD).

It has a beautiful collection of Yuya and Thuya’s entire burials, Psusennes I’s riches from Tanis, and the famed Narmer Palette, commemorating the unification of Upper and Lower Egypt under one pharaoh. The famous sculptures of the great monarchs Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, as well as the builders of the enormous pyramids on the Giza plateau, may be found in the museum.

The Museum also has an extensive collection of sarcophagi, papyri, and jewelry, among other vital artifacts that depict ancient Egypt’s glorious history and culture. finally, we will return you to your accommodation, ending your tour.
